"Hey Jer," Vanessa sighs, sitting next to him. The Pizzaplex was closed, and she was supposed to go home, since it was another guards' shift that night, and Vanessa would be able to go home and rest. The coworker got stuck in traffic however and she has to wait for them.

"Hi Ness, what's up?" he says, readjusting some of his bandages as he sat in one of the staff areas with her.

"Gregory is at a sleepover, Nole spoke with Sam, and the guard for tonight is stuck in traffic," Vanessa says.

"Oh congrats to Gregory. Is it with that Cassie girl?" he asks.

"Yeah," Vanessa nods.

"Sweet. She seems nice. They sometimes come and talks with me during shifts but I try and get them back in the main area because they aren't supposed to be there," Jeremiah says. Vanessa gives him a small thank you.

"It's been a while since I actually truly talked to you," Jeremiah says, "How'd things go with Luis? I kinda forgot about him until now."

"Oh... We went on a few dates but he decided it wasn't for him. We are still in contact though," Vanessa shrugged, "He got a promotion to managing marketing now."

"Oh nice! Last thing I knew he was in IT," Jeremiah chuckled, "Glad he's doing well."

"Yeah. He's doing really well for himself," Vanessa sighs. The room filled with awkward silence.

"So... Nole came to talk with Sam? About what?" Jer asked.

"Just to check on him. Nole said he doesn't want to tell me what exactly happened, since privacy is a big thing of his and Sam's, but he says that Sam definitely is over stressing himself but that there isn't anything we can do until he crashes apparently," Vanessa sighs.

"That's unfortunate," Jeremiah says.

"What is?" Sam asked, walking in.

"Oh I'm not in contact with an old friend as much anymore," Vanessa pipes in. Jeremiah nods. Sam shrugs and nods.

"It's always sad when that happens," Sam says. He grabs a water bottle from the fridge, since they were free for staff, and drinks some of it before leaving. Jeremiah narrows his eyes a bit as he looks at Vanessa.

"You should check on him yourself," Jeremiah said.

"He won't talk to us and you know it," she sighs. Jeremiah silently nods as Vanessa's phone rang.

"Hello?" she asks, putting it on speaker.

"Hey Nessa! Sorry to have to tell you, but there's been an accident on the overpass bridge and they have to check it's stability. It was a really bad crash and I won't be able to make it. Could you please take the shift? I know you were supposed to have the night off," the other guard asked over the phone. There was cars honking in the background of the call.

"Yeah I can. You be careful going back home. Just don't tell management I'm probably going to sleep on the job," Vanessa jokes.

"Your secret is safe with me," they respond before hanging up.

"You might actually have to sleep," Jeremiah points out.

"Oh yeah. I'm stealing Freddy's room on Rockstar Row and clonking out on that couch in there. It's so comfortable," she chuckles, standing up, "Get me if you guys need me. Tell them it's still me tonight."

"I will," he responds, standing up as well and walking out of the room after her, going towards where the others are congregated, waving goodbye. After reaching there and explaining, most of them dispersed, looking for other things to do, with Sarah taking Devon and Reed to Monty Golf, Toby and Edward looking for some snacks, which Sam had Millie helping him with putting some games Delilah had grabbed away, to give Toby some time with his friends. Most of them just meandered, with Mary Jo not having Gregory around to have someone her age, ended up in the arcade with Julius, and forced him to play the Dance Dance Revolution game which didn't go well.
