"Oo chocolate," Edward says, picking up a bottle of chocolate drizzle, "Why are we here? I thought you'd rather get food from the actual food places? Not the kitchen?"

"Nothing in there sounds good. I am so hungry and I can't figure out why," Toby says, looking through one of the cabinets.

"I feel like this is a bad thing... Maybe we should get Sam," Edward muttered. Toby just shot him a glare and stood up and checked a fridge. Edward fidgeted with the bottle he had in his hand for a moment before setting it down and looking around for actual food, but only being greeted with a pile of off not-meat.

"Toby, can we get out of here? I feel sick," he mumbles. Toby grumbles and slams the fridge door closed and turns to look at him before focusing on something just past him.

"Hey boys," Joel smiled from behind Edward, the statue being in the room now with them. Edward almost jumped out of his skin and turned around, backing away from him.

"Oh great it's the murderer," Toby said dead pan.

"I didn't kill anyone!" Joel snapped. Edward just slowly tries to leave as Toby glares at the man.

"Look man I just want someone to listen to me and you seem pretty listen-y," Joel points to Toby's rabbit ears, which flick angrily.

"I don't want to listen to you," Toby states, turning to leave with Edward. Joel materializes in front of them and grabs onto Edwards arm, frantically. He shakes the boy slightly.

"Just listen to me!" he snaps. Toby freezes and Edward slightly struggles against Joel but can't quite break free. After a moment Edward can't see Toby as he disappears into the darkness. He begins to panic as the man keeps grip on him and looks around, confused. Edward kicks at Joel, hitting him in the shins. Joel grunts and shoves Edward into the nearby counter and clutches his leg. Edward feels something crack in his side, sending more pain through him as he clutches his side and staggers away, tears beginning to fill his eyes.

"Prick!" Joel yelled, glaring at him, "Why couldn't you just fucking listen?"

"I-" Edwards goes to start but stops as a shadowy mass appears behind the man. Joel didn't notice it but saw Edward go white and looks confused.

"What's wrong with yo-" he starts before the shadow throws him across the room and slips after him, the white eyes completely ignoring Edward as it focused on Joel. Edwards can't see what's happening but here's Joel struggling before a loud snap and crunch and then screams. His heart felt like it was in his throat as he held his side and tried to find his way out. The door they'd come in was past Joel and whatever had just attacked him. He couldn't think straight and shuffle-ran as much as he could past the screaming man and the shadow that had him pinned to the ground. He saw dark liquid pooling from the man as he struggled to get back into the statue, completely unable to by some force of unholy power. The shadow looks up at Edward as he runs past, a white smile unnaturally jutting out of the darkness. He didn't even have time to register it as he got out of there. He managed to get up to the kitchen behind one of the food serving places and out into the atrium, beginning to cry and scream for help. Delilah and Dirk, who were nearby, rushed over, as well as Hudson who had been walking over to them.

"Edward? What's wrong?" Delilah asked, making sure the two men didn't crowd the boy and scare him.

"Joel, he... And Toby was hungry, and then it was dark, and white eyes, and Joel was yelling... screaming something was there with us," Edward word spouted and clutched his side. Delilah took a moment to let him wheeze and catch his breath as Hudson began to go into the back area.

"Go with him," Delilah tells Dirk, "I'll get him fixed up. If you see anything wrong, leave. Look for Toby too."

"Sure," Dirk muttered. He'd seen Toby turn into the shadow thing before and had a sneaking suspicion it had happened again. Delilah sat with Edward, hoping someone else would come and could help her get him somewhere she could fix his side.

"Wait up," Dirk said, jogging into the elevator with Hudson. Hudson looked confused, but also stoic and ready.

"Why are you here?" Hudson asks.

"Safety in numbers. Also Delilah told me to, so you don't get killed," Dirk says. Hudson rolls his eyes and sighs.

"Right. I didn't understand anything that kid said except Joel got hurt. Be honest, are we going to try to save him if he's in trouble?" he asks.

"Hell no. But she wants us to look for Toby, but I think we are gonna find that shadow rabbit instead," Dirk says.

"What do you mean?" he asks as the elevator stops.

"It took over him one other time, I saw it. So did that day guard we hate. And one of his ex-friends. It was a weird night," Dirk said, gesturing for Hudson to step out first. They enter the little foyer area before the kitchens and they stop. It was silent. No screaming. No clattering. No yelling. Hudson gave Dirk a confused look as they entered the kitchen area. It was dark, as always. Hudson grabbed the flashlight from his waist, which he'd gotten from Vanessa, and shined it around.

"This is weird," Dirk muttered. Hudson put his hand in Dirks way to tell him to shut up. Dirk looked at him, offended, but closes his yapper. They both pause as there's a crunching noise from beyond one of the counters. Hudson shines his light that way and sees a dark trail of liquid leading behind the counter. He walks around the side Dirk follows closely and looks concerned. The crunching gets louder as they get closer. As they peak around the edge of the counter, the light shines onto the black creature which was crouched over something. Its white eyes widen as the light and it scurries away, leaving behind the mangled and partially eaten corpse of Joel. The statue, which was nearby, looked broken and missing the same pieces he was. Dirk looked a bit grossed out while Hudson seemed unaffected by the gore and just went over to the body.

"Is... He dead?" Dirk asked, slowly.

"Looks like it... I mean, we all are. But he looks... actually dead," Hudson responds.

"We can die?" Dirk asks.

"I don't know," Hudson looks uncomfortable and hears the shadow creeping behind them and flashed the light at it, causing it to retreat once again.

"We should get Sam. His kid just killed someone," Dirk said.

"Haven't we all?" Hudson muttered. Dirk gave him a look but says nothing as they leave the kitchen.

"So. Dead, dead guy. Toby is consumed by the shadow thing, and we now have a dead body on our hands," Hudson says. Dirk seems to be lost in thought and looks extremely grossed out, like he finally processed the body. They get back up to the atrium, seeing Edward talking with a very disheveled Vanessa and a concerned Sam while Delilah cleans up her hands with a wipe Vanessa must've brought. Angel was standing nearby, since she was who Delilah sent to get them.
