Y/W/N padded alongside the hunting patrol, which consisted of her, Poppyfrost, Berrynose, and K/A/N.

K/A/N did have some minor wounds, but Y/W/N overheard her telling Poppyfrost and Berrynose that she'd just gone to make dirt last night and tumbled into a bramble bush somehow.

Y/W/N watched her daughter throughout the patrol, even though K/A/N never bothered to interact with her mother, Y/W/N still wanted to watch and see how far K/A/N was in her training.

Y/W/N was so focused on K/A/N that she didn't notice Poppyfrost slow down to match her pace. She only noticed it when the other she-cat jabbed her side with a paw. "Hey! What was that for?" She asked

"Because you weren't answering me!" Poppyfrost responded "Are you okay? Is something wrong with you and K/A/N? I noticed she hasn't really been trying to talk to you..."

Y/W/N sighed. She couldn't tell Poppyfrost about the Dark Forest, and K/A/N's visits there. "No, it's fine. K/A/N is just... growing up. She's focused on her training" She said. Technically it wasn't a complete lie, Y/A/N was focused on her training, even if it wasn't clan training.

Poppyfrost stared at her friend with a disbelieving look. "Alright, fine" She said, not pushing the matter further. "You can talk to me if you need to. I also bet Jayfeather is definitely available to talk to you"

"Yeah, I know. Thanks Poppyfrost" Y/W/N said, giving the other she-cat a smile. She noticed K/A/N perk her ears up, crouch down, and head into a bush on the left.

The warrior was about to follow her daughter to watch when she noticed rustling from the undergrowth on the right. As much as she would love to watch her daughter hunt, Y/W/N decided to hunt whatever was in the opposite direction, leaving Berrynose to train K/A/N as he was assigned to do.

Y/W/N stalked through the undergrowth, and came upon a thrush hopping around, presumably looking for something to eat. The prey had its back turned to the warrior, and Y/W/N stalked closer until she could pounce, landing right on the thrush and killing it with a bite to the neck.

The she-cat buried the prey and marked it as usual when she heard more rustling. She dropped into a hunters crouch, a little surprised that there was prey approaching her after hunting the thrush right there, but she wasn't complaining.

But instead of any kind of prey, a gray and white tom with green eyes came out, and Y/W/N stood up in alert, having not noticed this cats scent before he appeared.

The tom saw Y/W/N and his eyes widened, and he froze, and the she-cat could see fear in his eyes. She also just noticed that this cat wasn't much older than K/A/N, in fact, he seemed to be a bit younger than her daughter.

Deciding that the tom didn't pose a threat at all, Y/W/N relaxed and slowly approached the cat. "Hi, are you lost?" She asked, trying to be gentle as if she was talking to a kit.

The tom watched the warrior approach and he shivered. "Uh... I guess? Im sorry if I'm intruding in your area!" He said, clearly fearful of what might happen.

Y/W/N looked at the toms stance, and could see he was very unprepared for any kind of confrontation. He was shaking with fear, and Y/W/N could tell that if he even found the courage to attack, he would be pretty clumsy at it.

"Are you alone? Do you not have anyone with you?" She asked, sitting down to show she wasn't a threat as she tried to figure out what the tom was doing here.

"Yeah, I mean no, I mean, I very much have a group of cats who would be able to tear you to shreds!" The tom said, trying to put on a brave act.

Y/W/N sighed "You don't have anyone, do you? How long have you been on your own?" She asked, seeing through the toms bluff instantly.

It's wrong, but she is mine! (Jayfeather X Female Reader)Where stories live. Discover now
