It's wrong, but she is mine! (Jayfeather X Female Reader)

Chapter 29

"K/K/N, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as K/A/N. Your mentor will be Berrynose. I hope he will pass down all he knows onto you"

Firestar looked down at the newly named K/A/N as Y/W/N sat by the medicine cat den with Jayfeather, purring proudly as she watched her daughter. Ferncloud had been right about when Y/A/N would be apprenticed, as Dovepaw and Ivypaw were also apprenticed just then as well.

K/A/N bounded up to her parents excitedly once the ceremony had concluded. "Look! Firestar finally made me an apprentice!" She squealed, as Y/W/N purred and lean down to lick her daughters head.

"Just don't go somewhere you shouldn't be K/A/N" Jayfeather said, his blind gaze on the apprentice. "Your mother already seems good at nearly getting herself killed, I don't want you to do the same"

Y/W/N sighed playfully and prodded Jayfeathers side with a paw "It's not like I ever plan on nearly dying. But he's still correct, listen to Berrynose, okay K/A/N?"

The grey and P/C she-cat nodded, then padded over to Dovepaw and Ivypaw who were already mingling with the other apprentices.

Jayfeather's gaze tracked his kit until her scent mingled with the others. "You know, Lionblaze mentioned something to me. The prophecy about me does say it's three kin of kin of Firestar, and when Hollyleaf vanished, we didn't know what it meant for the prophecy. But now we think the third one wasn't ever Hollyleaf. It probably means either Dovepaw, Ivypaw, or K/A/N"

Y/W/N sighed. "Yeah.... Wait what's Lionblazes power? I know you can read thoughts and dreamwalk, but you never actually told me what Lionblaze got"

Jayfeather chuckled "Oh, he can't be hurt from battle. I think you definitely could use that though" He said, nuzzling Y/W/N's neck.

The P/C she-cat rolled her eyes "Yeah, I know. Then I wouldn't worry you so much. At least you know Lionblaze won't ever be killed"

Jayfeather shrugged "That's true. Still would rather not have to worry about you as much"

Y/W/N purred and leaned against the blind tom. "I wish. I guess I just have to try to not get myself killed"

A few days later Y/W/N was currently on a border patrol, going over the Thunderclan-Windclan border.

She watched her patrol mark a scent marker, and padded down to the stream to make sure there weren't any scents that didn't belong. However she looked at the stream and noticed something.

"Hey, is it just me, or is the stream calmer than it normally is?" She asked, and Brackenfur padded over.

"Maybe" He said. He carefully looked up and down the stream but shrugged. "It's probably nothing, don't worry about it Y/W/N"

The she-cat sighed but chalked it up to her not having been out for a little while, and trusted the golden brown tom. She finished the border patrol and the cats headed back to the Thunderclan camp.

Over the next few days the stream did actually start to shrink, and at that point it had become noticeable. Cats were questioning why and how it was happening, as it affected the lakes size as well.

Y/W/N padded into the medicine cat den, and came up to Jayfeather, rubbing against his side affectionately.

Jayfeather shivered in surprise, and turned his head towards the she-cat. "Y/W/N! Don't startle me like that!"

Y/W/N giggled "Sorry. I wanted to see if you heard anything from Starclan about the water? The stream keeps getting smaller and soon it's going to just vanish"

Jayfeather shook his head. "Unfortunately no, Starclan haven't said anything. Also, that's something for me to tell Firestar. I love you, but you're still a warrior. Just because you're my mate, doesn't mean I can give you extra privileges like knowing what Starclan says"

Y/W/N sighed in acknowledgment "Sorry, I was just curious." She padded over to their nest and sat down, then began grooming her pelt.

Jayfeather purred a bit "It's fine. You'll know when something happens, trust me" He said, before going back to what he was doing before his mate had entered.

Not long after pawsteps were heard and K/A/N padded into the medicine cat den. "Jayfeather?" She called out, and Jayfeather once again stopped what he was doing and went over to the entrance.

"Hey K/A/N, something wrong?" He asked, to which the apprentice lifted her paw to his muzzle.

"I got a big thorn in my paw, and I couldn't pull it out" She whined, and Jayfeather sighed. "Alright, go sit in a nest over there and I'll take care of it" He said.

Jayfeather padded over to the herb store to grab some yarrow as Y/W/N looked up at her mate.

"So, our kit is already managing to injure herself, huh?" She teased, and watched Jayfeather roll his blind eyes playfully.

"I guess. At this rate you two will be in here the most, not counting the fact that you sleep here Y/W/N" He mused as he returned to where K/A/N was.

Jayfeather set the yarrow down then felt his kits paw for the thorn. Once he located where it was and how big it was, he leaned down and gripped it with his teeth. After a couple tugs the thorn came out and a bit of blood oozed from the wound.

"Clean your paw while I make a quick poultice for it" He instructed. K/A/N nodded and began licking the wound on her paw as Jayfeather chewed the yarrow into a poultice.

Once the wound was cleaned, Jayfeather then spread the poultice onto K/A/N's paw pad, then felt and sniffed it over to make sure it was good.

"Alright, you're fine. Just be careful and try not to step onto any more thorns please" He said, though there was a small purr in his voice.

K/A/N purred "Thank you!" She said, giving her father a quick nuzzle before padding out of the medicine cat den.

Jayfeather shook his head, though he was purring, and padded over to Y/W/N. "She's got too much energy now. What'd she do as a kit, sleep all day?"

Y/W/N snorted as she paused her grooming "Not really, just the first couple days."

"Well, now she seems to have the opposite of you. Always up and ready to go" The blind tom purred and nuzzled Y/W/N. "Though it's better than falling asleep onto another cat while eating"

Y/W/N chuckled "You probably liked that!" She teased, cuffing a paw over her mates ear.

"Maybe. But to also be fair we hadn't even officially said anything to ourselves, much less the whole clan" He said, touched Y/W/N's nose with his own.

Y/W/N purred happily as she sat there with Jayfeather for a while before he had to return to his regular duties. She felt like she could live like this forever, content with being with Jayfeather and having her clan.
