Chapter 30

Y/W/N yawned as the morning sun shone into the medicine cat den. She blinked away sleep as she turned to look over at Jayfeather, who was curled around her.

Y/W/N purred as she poked the blind tom. "Morning" She said as he lifted his head and blinked his eyes.

Jayfeather nodded in acknowledgment and stood up with a stretch "Actually up before me for once?" He teased as Y/W/N was stretching herself.

"I guess. I don't decide when I wake up" Y/W/N said, nuzzling Jayfeather before going to pad out of the den.

Y/W/N padded into the clearing, seeing Brambleclaw organizing the early morning patrols. He glanced over and noticed Y/W/N awake.

"Oh Y/W/N, since you're awake, why don't you go hunting with Brightheart, Lionblaze, and Dovepaw?"

Y/W/N nodded and headed to the three cats, then the patrol headed out into the forest.

Y/W/N padded beside her old mentor as Lionblaze talked to Dovepaw about how she should listen and scent for prey.

"Hopefully she doesn't end up finding a fox tracking prey" Brightheart whispered to Y/W/N, teasing the P/C coloured warrior.

"I doubt she would. Plus, I was successful in driving it away from the territory!" Y/W/N replied, glancing at the one-eyed she-cat.

"Yeah, but it looked worse than it was. You really should've gone straight back to camp afterwards" Brightheart said, nudging Y/W/N playfully

Y/W/N rolled her eyes "Yeah, Jayfeather had already given me an earful at the time"

Brightheart chuckled before the patrol had stopped, and everyone had crouched down as there had been prey scented nearby.

Lionblaze let Dovepaw go and give it a try at catching it. Y/W/N and Brightheart watched, all three warriors staying crouched to let the apprentice concentrate.

Y/W/N decided to taste the air for any other prey, letting Lionblaze teach Dovepaw.

She scented a squirrel and quietly padded over to where the squirrels scent was coming from, keeping sure to stay in her hunters crouch as to not alert the squirrel or Dovepaws prey.

Y/W/N crept up to a tree where she could see the squirrel and carefully padded closer, making sure to keep her pawsteps light and not step on anything that would alert it.

With a swift pounce Y/W/N landed on the squirrel and quickly killed it with a bite to the back of the neck. She picked up her prey and padded back to where her patrol was.

Dovepaw was just finishing burying her prey when Y/W/N came back. Brightheart looked over and saw the squirrel hanging from the P/C coloured she-cats jaw.

"So that's what you were doing. No fox this time?" She teased, to which Y/W/N playfully rolled her eyes as she also buried her prey.

The hunting patrol went through the undergrowth of Thunderclan territory, going for about half the day and catching a bit more before deciding to head back to camp.

After pushing through the bramble barrier and dropping her prey off at the fresh-kill pile. Y/W/N noticed K/A/N padding by and purred at seeing her kit.

"Hey K/A/N!" She called out, making the grey and P/C she-cat perk up and look at her mother "How'd you do today Y/A/N? Having fun as an apprentice?"

K/A/N nodded, but just continued padding towards the apprentice den, seemingly distracted in her thoughts.

Y/W/N tilted her head, a little confused by her daughters attitude, but shrugged and thought K/A/N must not have been able to catch anything and was just sad from that.

K/A/N entered the apprentice den, thinking about the hunting practice she had with Berrynose. She had been learning, but her mentor always seemed that he'd hadn't liked her that much, so she asked him.

"I don't understand why Firestar let Y/W/N and Jayfeather be together as if it was normal. It just completely violates the code and they didn't even eat any kind of punishment!" He had hissed.

K/A/N curled up in her nest, thinking about what Berrynose said. That must be the reason other cats don't seem to like talking to me She thought.

K/A/N yawned and decided to go to sleep early, just thinking about how hard it's becoming being the daughter of a medicine cat.

K/A/N opened her eyes to see a forest, but she quickly figured it wasn't Thunderclan territory. The forest seemed eerie and creepy, and she didn't like it much.

K/A/N padded through the forest, looking around at all the tall trees around her. She wasn't sure of what she should do, wondering how she even ended up here when she heard a voice behind her.

"Hey!" A tom called out. K/A/N turned around and saw a big tabby tom with dark brown fur. "Come here" He said, with quite a bit of authority in his voice.

K/A/N padded over to the tom, a little nervous but she remained calm. "Where am I?" She asked

"Somewhere where you'll be able to train much better than in the clans" The tom replied "You can show them that you're much better"

K/A/N tilted her head "Really? How? What kind of training? And who are you anyways?"

The tom flicked his tail to signal the apprentice to quiet down. "We have our own training methods." He explained

"As for your last question, my name is Tigerstar"
