"I may have developed some feelings for one of them..."
Jayfeathers words stunned Y/W/N. She didn't know what to even respond with. Feelings? Does he mean love or something?
Y/W/N thoughts ran frantically. Jayfeather approached the she-cat but she stepped back. "Are you sure? What do you even mean? How long have you even been able to see these cats? How does that even work?" Y/W/N asked rapidly.
Jayfeathers blind gaze moved between the stick and Y/W/N for a few moments. "I'm not even sure if I know what I'm feeling. It's not like how I feel for you, but it's not the same normal feeling I have for anyone else" He explained.
Y/W/N stared at the stick, seeing all the markings across it. "I... I don't know what to say. You think you might have feelings for a... dead cat? Who even are they???"
Jayfeather shifted his paws uneasily. "I guess? I think these cats lived long ago, but it's like I'm actually there whenever I use the stick. Maybe it's something with the stick and my powers, I don't know"
Y/W/N stared at Jayfeather. Her mate, the cat she loved and had started a family with, was now telling her he could have feelings for a cat that USED to live. And what happens if he gets the option to stay there somehow? Would he?
Jayfeather opened his mouth to speak again, but Y/W/N turned away before he could say anything, heading back to the Thunderclan camp with her thoughts swirling.
Y/W/N pushed through the bramble entrance to camp, ignoring whoever was at the entrance. She thought about just heading back to the medicine cat den to sleep, but since she didn't know what she'd want to say to Jayfeather right now, Y/W/N opted tp go to the warriors den.
Y/W/N entered the den, grabbing some moss before she did to set up a nest, considering she'd been sleeping with Jayfeather in the medicine cat den for a while, and didn't have a nest set up in the warriors den anymore. She padded to a corner of the den and used the moss to make a nest.
As Y/W/N made her nest, she heard a cat pad in. She didn't bother looking until she heard the other cat speak. "Y/W/N? Why are you making a nest in the warriors den?" The P/C cat recognized Leafpools voice. Since Firestar had changed the medicine cat to a warrior as punishment for having half-clan kits, especially as a medicine cat.
Y/W/N looked up at Jayfeathers mother. "Well, it's a bit complicated... Just don't want to talk to Jayfeather right now." She responded.
Leafpool tilted her head, puzzled. "Why? What'd he do?" She asked.
Y/W/N searched for the words to explain. How would she explain that Jayfeather said he might have feelings for a cat who's dead? Or how to explain these ancient cats? Y/W/N didn't even know anything about them herself!
"Just... a disagreement." Y/W/N said. "Leafpool, have you ever heard of any clan cat being able to communicate with any other ancestors besides Starclan?"
Leafpool seemed to think about Y/W/N's question. "Not that I've heard of. Why? Is Jayfeather able to?"
Y/W/N thought about telling Leafpool what Jayfeather had said about these ancient cats, but even despite the weird news, she didn't want to spill a secret of Jayfeathers. Plus, it would probably just make the blind tom mad at her, and possibly worsen their relationship further.
"No, I was just wondering. I never even thought about any ancestors before I joined Thunderclan." Y/W/N lied, using her loner past as a reason.
Leafpool nodded. "Makes sense. The Tribe has their own ancestors, so I'd guess it would be possible"
Y/W/N nodded back, and Leafpool headed to her nest. Y/W/N laid down to go to sleep before anyone else entered and got the chance to also question why she was sleeping in the warriors den instead of the medicine cat den.
Y/W/N opened her eyes to see a Twoleg yards fence, and she'd see that she was on the inside of it, seeing the three walls of fence and the Twoleg nest wall. She then noticed a she-cat talking to a tom at the base of one of the fences, and saw two kits scampering around.
Y/W/N padded over to the two cats talking, and only just noticed that once again, she was the size of a lot. Another memory? She thought. She also noticed the similar P/C markings in the she-cats pelt that Y/W/N had, and recognized the tom from the past memory she'd dreamt about, the one where that tom had died in.
The she-cat turned to Y/W/N, glancing at the other two kits playing in the yard. "Y/L/N, would you like to live outside the Housefolk with your father?"
Without even thinking, Y/W/N felt herself nod her head as a realization came to her. That tom is my father! This must be my mother!
Y/W/N's mother purred, and Y/W/N felt the scruff of her neck get grabbed by her father, and after saying his goodbyes, he jumped over the Twoleg fence with Y/W/N in tow.
