It had been a few days since Dovepaw had initially announced she could see the brown creatures up the river.
Firestar has brought it up to the other clan leaders, and it was decided that they'd send a patrol of eight cats, two from each clan, to go find out what was going on and stop it if needed.
Lionblaze and Dovepaw has been chosen to go from Thunderclan, and as much as Y/W/N wanted to go, probably because of the exploration instinct she had from her loner days, she didn't argue with Firestar's choice of who did go.
Y/W/N was still worried about K/A/N though anyways, even if the apprentice had healed. K/A/N still refused to say how exactly she got her wounds, sticking to her story about thorns in her nest.
Jayfeather still believed it was some rebellious phase, not reading his daughters mind and assuring Y/W/N that K/A/N would be fine and talk to them when she wanted to.
As much as the warrior wanted to believe her mate, she still felt off about K/A/N's behaviour, but without the apprentice saying anything and no actual evidence, Y/W/N couldn't actually do anything about it.
She just resorted to watching her daughter whenever she could. Y/W/N spent a bit more time hunting, as she liked it and it let her think about how to go about the whole situation.
Currently Y/W/N was hunting near the border opposite of the lake, tracking a vile she scented. She was slipping through the undergrowth, following its trail when she finally saw the prey nibbling on something, unaware of the she-cats presence.
As Y/W/N was about to pounce on the vole, a voice casually called out, which alerted the vole and it quickly darted away. Y/W/N hissed in frustration and looked to where she heard the voice.
A loner was standing a few tail-lengths away from the warrior, right on the edge of Thunderclan territory. Y/W/N recognized the cat as the loner who Jayfeather (with quite a bit of help from Y/W/N) drove off.
Y/W/N sighed in frustration, considering the loner wasn't actually on Thunderclan territory this time, she couldn't do much.
"What do you want? Why scare off the vole I was hunting?" She hissed at the tom, who just chuckled and shrugged.
"Well I'm just watching. I recognized ya so I'd thought I'd say hello" He said, though to Y/W/N it seemed the loner had a smug look on his face.
"Well, I told you before, you're not welcome, especially after last time" Y/W/N hissed, glaring at the loner.
The loner chuckled "Whatever. I'm still thinking I'd be a better fit than that blind, what did I hear he was? A 'medicine cat'? Sounds dumb. Also it doesn't seem like he could even fight on his own, whereas I can fight better than anyone you ever meet, and I don't need any help"
Y/W/N rolled her eyes. "I don't care. You aren't convincing me of doing anything. I've already got my mate and kit, so how about you just leave? I'm not and will never be interested" She said, and backed away from the loner and border.
The loner narrowed his eyes and stepped into Thunderclan territory "Now now, don't be irrational. You know I'm much better than that grey fox-dung"
Y/W/N hissed and padded up right into the loners face "Leave. Now. Or else you're gonna sorely regret it" She hissed angrily, the loners comment about Jayfeather getting under her skin.
The loner grinned smugly "Come on, I doubt you would be able to do much" He said, putting his tail around the P/C she-cat. However, this angered Y/W/N further, and she scratched right down the middle of the loners muzzle, leaving a deep scratch and causing him to stumble backwards in shock.
