Chapter 26

Days had passed since Hollyleaf vanished into the tunnels, making sure all the clans learned of Ashfurs murder and the true parents of her, Lionblaze, and Jayfeather before she left.

Thunderclan was pretty chaotic, as now it means that BOTH of their medicine cats broke the same code. However, Firestar still decided to have Leafpool change to being a warrior, as punishment for having kits with a Windclan warrior and breaking that code.

This meant that as Thunderclans only medicine cat, Jayfeather didn't get any punishment, though some cats argued it at first until they realized that they wouldn't have a medicine cat if Firestar currently punished the blind tom as well.

Y/W/N had moved into the nursery, her belly having now clearly showing, though Jayfeather mentioned it was a little smaller than he expected it to be.

Y/W/N didn't seem to care about it, she had become excited to have kits, especially since Jayfeather always tried to stop by the nursery every day to check on his mate.

Y/W/N wasn't alone at least, Whitewing also happened to be pregnant with Birchfalls kits. Since Whitewing was Cloudtails and Brighthearts daughter, Y/W/N already got along with the other she-cat, and seemed to talk to her more now since their kits would actually be kin.

There was also Ferncloud, Daisy, and Millie in the nursery, and it was pretty lively with Millie's kits running around. They'd be apprentices soon at least, and hopefully the nursery wouldn't be too full when Y/W/N and Whitewing give birth.

Y/W/N was currently laying down in her nest, listening to Whitewing talk to Birchfall, who constantly seemed worried for his mate. "I'm sure she'll be fine Birchfall, it's not like Whitewings the first cat ever to have kits" She said.

Birchfall looked over at the P/C she-cat. "Well, I still worry. I'm sure Jayfeather worries for you too, even if he's a medicine cat" He said, just as the blind tom entered the nursery.

"Even if I'm a medicine cat? What are you guys talking about in here?" Jayfeather asked as he padded over to Y/W/N.

Y/W/N purred in amusement "Oh, Birchfall just constantly worrying over Whitewing as if she's the first cat ever to have kits" She responded as Jayfeather scented and checked over his mate, Birchfall giving a playful huff as he licked his mates forehead before leaving.

"Well then, I assume he said I worry too, and he'd be right. Especially since being a medicine means I understand more risks than a cat might presume"

Y/W/N purred as Jayfeather also padded over to Whitewing. "Well, both of you are pretty close to kitting. At this point you two could have them any day now" Jayfeather mused after his examination of the white queen was done.

Ferncloud purred "Well, we'll be sure to get you when they are Jayfeather" She said, and the blind tom nodded at her. He padded over to Y/W/N, giving her a nuzzle before leaving.

"I still would love to know how you managed to melt Jayfeathers grumpiness like that. Every time he's around you Y/W/N, he seems like the happiest and a super friendly cat" Ferncloud pondered to Y/W/N.

The P/C coloured cat shrugged. "I dunno. I just have an amazing personality I guess!" She said, purring in amusement. "Jayfeather just loves it!"

Whitewing snorted in amusement "I bet she hypnotized him or something" She teased, looking at Y/W/N.

Y/W/N playfully rolled her eyes. "Maybe. I remember when we were apprentices, and Jayfeather had first really stopped being grumpy to me, and even Leafpool was confused"

Whitewing giggled "Yeah, anyone would've been. Especially at a point where no one knew you guys were together, if it was even that early"

Y/W/N laid back and purred in amusement "I think that was shortly before? I just know we agreed on being mates right after I was attacked by the badger saving some Shadowclan kits"
