It's wrong, but she is mine! (Jayfeather X Female Reader)

Chapter 34

Y/W/N opened her eyes to see the medicine cat den, looking over to see Jayfeather still sound asleep beside her. She purred a little seeing her mate and yawned, going to stretch out.

Unfortunately when Y/W/N tried to stretch out she felt pain in her shoulders and stopped, looking down. She could see the wounds that Mapleshade had inflicted on her in the Dark Forest, confirming her theory of sustaining real injuries when injured in the Dark Forest.

Y/W/N sighed, and right before she was about to prod Jayfeather awake, she heard the entrance to the medicine cat den rustle and she looked up to see Lionblaze enter.

The she-cat could see a few injuries on the tom, and having knowledge of the prophecy, it seemed weird to see Lionblaze with wounds. He padded over to Y/W/N, glancing at his sleeping brother briefly before speaking quietly

"Come on, lets go for a walk. I'll explain a bit more than I was able to before" He said, and Y/W/N got up, ignoring the slight pain in her shoulders as she followed Lionblaze out of the camp through the dirtplace tunnel, as to avoid questions from whoever was on guard about their injuries.

Once the two cats were far enough away from the camp, Lionblaze sat down and Y/W/N did the same. "So, I imagine you still have some questions about all that?" Lionblaze asked

Y/W/N nodded. "Yeah... Why does K/A/N feel like she has to train in the Dark Forest because of how she was born? She's never mentioned the way she'd been treated before, why immediately decide that kind of training was necessary?"

Lionblaze shrugged "I can't really answer that Y/W/N, I'm sorry. I only know how she's feeling to end up there, not the reasons why. I can't say why she didn't tell you or Jayfeather. I assume Jayfeather chose not to read her mind if neither of you have a clue."

Y/W/N sighed. "Yeah, he didn't want to invade her privacy. Maybe her felt bad because it was how he first found out my feelings, which now that I think about it, is a bit weird... And he confessed while dreamwalking in my dream..." Y/W/N, then shook her head "Sorry, getting off track. Anyways, why are clan cats ending up in the Dark Forest? What do those cats want by training living cats?"

"I believe the Dark Forest cats are planning some kind of attack. I'm sure of much details yet, but it seems like they need help from the living, so they've brought in cats that have grudges against the clans or maybe specific clan cats in general"

Y/W/N sighed "Can you... please protect K/A/N while you're there Lionblaze? I don't think I'd be able to do anything if I ever ended up there again, and I doubt Jayfeather can visit the Dark Forest"

Lionblaze looked at Y/W/N, a look of pity in his eyes "I'll try Y/W/N..." He said "I'm trying to keep both her and Ivypaw safe. But they're quite skilled, I'm sure they'll be fine regardless"

Y/W/N purred a bit "Thanks Lionblaze" She said. She got up, stretching as much as she could without aggravating her wounds "I think we better explain this to Jayfeather. I doubt he'd buy any excuse you came up with due to the prophecy, or mine because we share the same nest" She chuckled a little bit.

Lionblaze smiled and the two cats padded back to the Thunderclan camp, sneaking back in through the dirtplace tunnel.

They went back to the medicine cat den and Y/W/N went over and prodded Jayfeather in the side lightly, and the blind grey tom grumbled and open his eyes, turning to face in the she-cats direction.

"Y/W/N? What are you waking me up for?" He asked, yawning and sitting up before his ears perked. "Wait, are you wounded? What happened?"

Y/W/N chuckled nervously before Lionblaze spoke up "Not just Y/W/N..." He said, and Jayfeathers attention turned to his brother, and he padded over and scented Lionblaze.

"What in Starclans name? How did you of all cats injure yourself??" He asked, and Y/W/N could see that her mate was totally at a loss, which slightly amused her as she looked at the bewildered look on her mates face.

Lionblaze then explained the Dark Forest to Jayfeather, leaving out that K/A/N was there. However, after Lionblaze explained what was happening, Jayfeather seemed to ponder for a moment.

"Have... you seen K/A/N there?" Jayfeather asked nervously, and Lionblaze sighed. "Yes. I'm sorry Jayfeather. But I am trying to make sure she's as safe as possible-"

"Why is she there?!?" Jayfeather hissed, cutting his brother off. "She's clearly being injured from these visits! What if she gets too hurt?!? I wouldn't know until it was too late!"

The blind medicine cat startled Lionblaze, and Y/W/N padded over to nuzzle her mate. "Jayfeather... Let Lionblaze finish talking..."

Jayfeather glanced over at Y/W/N with his blind eyes and sighed, sitting down but glaring in Lionblazes direction. "Fine..."

Lionblaze took a moment but resumed speaking "Look, I'm trying my best to keep K/A/N safe. But Jayfeather... she's there because she hates that she was born despite the code that says medicine cats shouldn't even have mates..."

Jayfeathers eyes widened. "What? She... why does she feel like that?"

"I think some cats give her a hard time because of it. I know cats like Dustpelt and Thornclaw are very clear with their... 'disagreement' on yours and Y/W/N's relationship, and I think others like Berrynose share that thought"

Jayfeather looked down, and even Y/W/N pondered If Berrynose doesn't like it either and has voiced it to or in front of K/A/N... That would make sense why she suddenly hates the way she was born...

Jayfeather sighed "I understand... Thanks Lionblaze" He mumbled, then went into the herb store to fetch some treatment herbs for Lionblazes and Y/W/N's wounds.

Jayfeather stayed silent as he treated the two cats, even when Y/W/N tried to comfort her mate and talk to him. The she-cat only had to give up when she was picked to go on a hunting patrol. The treatments had already started soothing her shoulders so she got up, looking at Jayfeather one last time, who was just rummaging through the herb store, before she left.
