Y/W/N opened her eyes to see an eerie forest stretching out in front of her. Great... This forest dream again... She thought and sighed.
Back when Y/W/N was just a loner, she'd see this forest in her dreams practically every single night. As eerie as it was, she quickly learned that it was just a forest with nothing else to be found in it. These dreams had stopped once she joined Thunderclan, but now it seemed like it was back.
The she-cat began wandering around aimlessly, as she would whenever she had the dream before. There was never any life inside of the forest, no cats, prey, or predators, so the P/C cat never worried about it.
But as Y/W/N explored, she suddenly heard the sounds of cats. Her ears perked up and she crouched down, as this was new for the dream. She cautiously and quietly padded closer to the sounds.
Y/W/N walked over to a clearing, where she could see a bunch of cats. She went and hid in a bush so that she could observe them without being noticed.
The cats seemed to be training, but it looked to be a more brutal type of battle training than the clans had. Something else that disturbed Y/W/N was that these cats didn't keep their claws sheathed, and were actually slicing one another, despite it just being training.
Suddenly Y/W/N realized that she recognized a bunch of the cats there. There are clan cats here! She thought. Most of them she'd only seen at Gatherings, and didn't know the names of. However, from where she was hiding, Y/W/N could see three Thunderclan cats.
She saw Lionblaze, and even though he should have the power of not getting injured, it didn't seem to work here as the P/C cat could see wounds on her mates brother.
The second cat she recognized was Ivypaw, one of Whitewings kits. The apprentice was trying her best, but Y/W/N could see she was having trouble against whatever cat she was 'training' with.
The final Thunderclan cat the warrior saw was K/A/N. She froze upon seeing her daughter, who seemed to train aggressively. K/A/N was skillfully darting in and around the cat she was faced off against, though it wasn't always working as the cat would score some hits along the apprentices sides and shoulders.
Wait... Cats who get injured here must carry their injuries with them to the waking world! Y/W/N thought. It would perfectly explain how K/A/N earned her injuries before, and why she was so adamant about lying about it to Y/W/N and Jayfeather. The only thing the warrior couldn't understand was why these cats were training here, especially when they were getting so injured from the it.
But as Y/W/N was about to back away and leave the area, a ragged tortoiseshell and white she-cat tackles her out of nowhere and the two rolled out from the bush before Y/W/N was pinned by the other cat.
The cats in the clearing stopped and looked at the two. The clan cats had their mouths agape as they recognized Y/W/N, while the unknown cats to the P/C warrior seemed to be confused and looked at her, some of them narrowing their eyes.
"Who are you and how did you end up here?!?" The tortoiseshell she-cat hissed right in Y/W/N's face, and the warrior looked right into her attackers amber eyes defiantly.
"Look, I don't know. I don't want to know about whatever you've got going on here, and your brutal training" Y/W/N hissed back, and felt the other she-cats claws dig deep into her shoulders, earning a hiss of pain from the P/C cat.
"I should just kill you right here, you clearly shouldn't be able to dream your way into here" The tortoiseshell said. But then Y/W/N heard pawsteps approaching her and she craned her neck to see who it was.
"Calm down Mapleshade." Lionblaze said. "It wouldn't look good if you killed a living cat. I don't think we would be able to explain why Y/W/N would be dead"
Mapleshade scoffed and got off the P/C she-cat. "Fine" She then turned to Y/W/N, getting right into the Thunderclan cats face "You say anything, anything about this at all, and I will kill you" She hissed.
Y/W/N nodded and Mapleshade walked away angrily, giving Lionblaze an angry glare before she left. Lionblaze turned to Y/W/N padding over and lowering his voice so that only the she-cat could hear him. "How'd you end up in the Dark Forest? It didn't seem like any of the Dark Forest cats specifically brought you, and I don't think you hold any grudges against a cat or the clans"
Y/W/N tilted her head "Dark Forest? Honestly I have no idea why I'm here either. But I used to dream about this forest when I was a loner, though I never saw any cats, dead or alive" She explained. "Why are you, Ivypaw, and K/A/N here?"
Lionblaze glanced back at the two Thunderclan apprentices as Y/W/N mentioned them. "Well, that's a bit weird. So I think Tigerstar brought me here because of my part in the prophecy, you know, how I can't be hurt in the waking world?" He said, to which Y/W/N nodded.
"Ivypaw ended up here because she seemed to feel left out, her sister having this big role in the prophecy as well, and some personal issues it seemed like. Then K/A/N is the one I really kind of feel bad for, and I'm sorry to say this to you, but K/A/N's reasoning is shes hating the fact that she was born from a broken code"
Y/W/N glanced over at her kit, who seemed to now be ignoring the two Thunderclan warriors talk and focused on this brutal training. "So that's why she's been so distant?"
Lionblaze nodded. "Again, I'm sorry. But K/A/N's apparently received some backlash from others, even in Thunderclan, from being born from a broken code. So she thinks you and Jayfeather are to blame"
Y/W/N looked down at her paws. "I see..." She mumbled. She didn't ever realize that K/A/N felt like this, or think about what everyone would think of the apprentice, especially since she was born to a medicine cat. That's probably why Leafpool hid the fact that she was Jayfeather and Lionblazes mother...
Lionblaze brushed his tail over Y/W/N's head "It'll be okay, Y/W/N. I'm trying to convince her otherwise when I can. I know you and Jayfeather love her, and she is my kin after all anyways" He said.
The she-cat looked back up at the golden tom. "Thanks Lionblaze" She said, smiling a little and looking at K/A/N as her kit continued the training.
"Look, you should try to wake up. And try not coming back here if you can figure it out. All I know is that cats usually think angry and dark thoughts as they dream when they fall asleep, and that's what the Dark Forest cats use to bring them here. Trying to just remain calm and happy when going to sleep, and you should be able to stay away. I'll talk to you in the morning" Lionblaze explained.
Y/W/N nodded and Lionblaze then padded away back to the clearing, leaving Y/W/N to just spectate until she finally started waking up, the Dark Forest scenery around her shifting away.
