On the morning of February fourteenth, I wake up to find John watching me. I smile and caress his cheek, glad we have these few moments together. John gently kisses me, then scoots down and kisses my baby belly.
"Morning," he whispers as he comes back to look into my eyes.
"Morning."
"Are you ready for our big day?" John asks, and I nod enthusiastically. "Great. Our appointment is at one. Mum and Dad should be here by noon. Simon and Yazzy, too. After, we have reservations at The Savoy for lunch."
I glance at the clock and see we have a little less than two hours until we'll have company. I smile at him as I say, "That sounds wonderful, John. Thank you for taking care of all those details."
"Anything for you, my love," John says and kisses me. "Shall we have a little pre-wedding fun?"
John's hand moves from my waist to between my legs, gently stroking my sex through my panties. I groan and flex my hips toward his hand. Then John suddenly stops, and my eyes fly open.
"Maybe we should wait until after the vows," John teases, pulling away and sitting up.
"It's a bit late for that," I say as I, too, sit up and pull him into a hungry kiss.
I feel John smile against my lips as he starts to kiss me. We lower onto the bed together, removing each other's clothes as we continue to kiss. My baby belly is big, but at this stage, it doesn't yet hinder John from being on top of me. I feel his entrance and groan in satisfaction.
We move together, enjoying this moment of connection before the later busyness. Today is an important day, and its significance looms in the near future. Right now, I just want to delight in John.
It doesn't take long before we are both moaning, our mutual orgasms filling the room with sound. When we both stop moving, John lifts himself and looks down at me.
"I love you, Allison. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you," he says, and I smile as I reach up to caress his cheek.
"And I love you. Our life together will be spectacular," I enthuse, and John chuckles.
"I dunno about spectacular, but it will be more than either of us expect, I reckon," John says as he moves off me.
I roll onto my side to look at John. I sometimes can't believe we're still together. I know we are great together, but every once in a while, I feel like there's too much different between us. Starting with the eleven-year age difference. We're from different generations, for goodness sake. My brothers are closer to John's age. But maybe that's why I'm so comfortable with John.
"We should start to get ready," John tells me as he swings his legs over the edge of the bed and sits up.
I quietly agree, so John stands up. He goes to his wardrobe and removes the suit bag from the store. Inside is the new outfit he bought just for today. I can't wait to see him in it. I, on the other hand, have no idea what to wear. Should I wear a dress? A suit? Just regular clothes? I simply don't know. So, I lie in bed, watching John as I absentmindedly rub my baby belly. John fusses about for a few minutes until he realizes I haven't moved. Then he stops in his tracks and looks at me, confused.
"All right, love?" he calls, and I sigh, pushing my way up on my elbows.
"I don't know what to wear," I bemoan and even give him a bit of a pouty lip.
"Nothing fancy, darling," he tells me, and I quirk my head.
"But why not? It's our wedding day. We only get one," I say, and John's face registers his concern.
