***CHRIS POV***

After Ronnie and I talked and then watched a few movies together, we had dinner and then she got tired, so we worked on getting her to bed. As I helped her to bed Dodger assumed his position right beside her.

"You know you can kick him out of bed..." I said and Ronnie placed a hand on her chest overacted gasping in shock.

"You want me to kick my cuddle buddy out of bed?! Are you jealous Christopher? You jealous your dog picks me over you?" Ronnie asked and I chuckled but half nodded.

"I am, I mean man's best friend..." I said and Ronnie smiled at me. A smile she always gave me to get her way. She knew that too.

"Well, he just loves me more I guess." Ronnie said and I just shook my head with a smile.

"Well get some sleep and I will see you in the morning." I said and leaned down to kiss her forehead and before I could fully stand up, she was pulling me down to kiss my cheek.

"Thank you for everything Chris." Ronnie said in a tone just above a whisper.

I placed a hand gently on her cheek.

"You're my girl Ronnie, even when it didn't seem like it, I always cared." I said and she smiled. She got comfortable in bed, rolled and threw her arm over Dodger. They cuddled together, I smiled. I left the room and cracked the door once the light was off.

I got ready for bed and then headed out to the living room. I knew I had guest rooms, and I knew I could sleep in one of those, but the living room felt more comfortable to me, and I was in a general location if Ronnie needed me. I turned on the tv quietly to watch some late-night shows.

I wasn't sure what startled me slightly awake but when I woke up the tv was off and the room was plunged into darkness. As I started to drift back off the sleep, I heard Dodgers nails clicking on the floor and he ran as fast as he could. He stopped in front of me on the couch and started barking in my face.

"Dodger. What the fuck. Stop." I said annoyed scared he would wake Ronnie. Dodger then growled and started barking at me when I didn't get up. He had never acted like this before, and I was concerned. "Dod -..." I couldn't finish his name.

"NO! GET OFF! PLEASE STOP!" I heard Ronnie yell. I quickly got up and ran into the bedroom and found Ronnie slightly thrashing around and she was having a nightmare. By the screaming I knew she was having a nightmare about the attack, and I sighed. I walked over to the bed, and I knew I could just try and shush her to wake her, so she didn't hit me.

"Hey Ronnie, shush, it's okay." I said placing a hand on her cheek. She jolted awake but as she was breathing heavy, her eyes met mine.

"Hey..." Ronnie said, and I gave a small smile. "Sorry, was I dreaming?" Ronnie said as I saw tears form in her eyes.

"You were...the attack." I said and she groaned, and tears started to fall. I stood up from the crouching position I had taken.

"You okay? You need anything?" I asked her and she nodded.

"Chris, can you stay with me and sleep with me? I don't want to be alone." Ronnie asked grabbing my hand and I gave her a small smile.

"I wasn't planning on going anywhere sweetie." I said and walked around to the other side of the bed and crawled in. I was barely able to get comfortable and Ronnie had her head on my chest, and she whimpered out a small cry. I just wrapped her in my arms and held her as she cried herself to sleep.

***RONNIE POV***

It had been a few days since I woke up with Chris beside me in bed, yet we never talked about it. Since I knew and he knew that I asked him we didn't feel the need to talk about it. We were working on lunch one afternoon when I knew I needed to do something and see if he would help me.
