**THANKSGIVING**

We were getting ready to go to Lisa's for Thanksgiving. Chris and I had a chill morning sitting at home watching the parade on tv, he got in some afternoon football and now it was time to get ready to go be with the family for Thanksgiving. I was sitting on the bed after getting dressed as I put my shoes on.

"Hey, can we make a stop before we go your moms. I have something I need to do." I said as I stood up and walked into the bathroom where Chris was finishing getting ready.

"Yeah, sure, everything okay?" Chris asked and I nodded.

"Yeah, just something I have done alone every year, and I don't want to not do it because we are together." I said and he nodded. I saw Chris grabbed his cologne and I groaned to myself.

"Seriously?"

"What?! I love this cologne! I fell in love with it when I was spokesman for it years ago." Chris said. He was talking about Gucci Guilty. Truth was I loved the smell of it but I hated how the smell of it on him made me almost feral and I just wanted to jump him whenever he wore it.

"It's just, can't you switch it up once in a while?" I asked and he smiled at me, walking over to me in the doorway after spraying it and I smiled at him. I had to try and control myself.

"Find a good cologne and maybe I will." Chris said leaning in and passionately kissing me. I moaned in the kiss, and he pulled away.

"Okay well if we have a stop to make, we should get everything packed up and go." Chris said and I nodded. We walked out of the bedroom, I was in front of Chris, and he groaned.

"What?!" I asked.

"You bitch at me about my cologne, yet you were that figure hugging sweater dress." Chris asked mentioning my grey sweater dress the hit right above the knee with a maroon belt around the waist.

"What?! I like this dress, it's comfy." I said and he sighed just walking into the kitchen to get the pies I baked. I went to the door and called for Dodger once I got his leash. I hooked up Dodger and we headed out of the door.

"Can you tell me where we are going?" Chris asked as he got in the car, and I put the address in the car GPS.

"Just follow that." I said and Chris sighed since I wouldn't tell him. The ride was silent but once we arrived at the destination Chris looked at me.

"Ronnie..." Chris said, and I shook my head.

"You know where to go." I said and Chris drove along the roads in the cemetery and stopped close to where my parents were buried. I got out of the car and grabbed the flowers I had placed in the car the day before. Chris got Dodger out on his leash, and we walked hand in hand to my parents' headstone and stopped.

"I come here every year before I go to your moms and just let them know what's been going on in my life." I said and Chris smiled. I shivered after I laid the flowers down. Chris took his coat off and put it around my shoulders, I left mine in the car by accident.

"What are you going to tell them about this year?" Chris asked.

"That I finally started dating you so they can finally be happy for us." I said and Chris chuckled and kissed the side of my head as I leaned into him. "Tell them I quit the bad job, unsure of where life was going to lead but was just going to go with the flow." I explained.

"Good plan." Chris said.

We were silent for a few minutes.

"I miss them." I broke the silence as tears filled my eyes.

"I do too." Chris said and I gave a small smile.

"Love you guys." I whispered as I shivered again.

"Ready to go?" Chris asked and I nodded.

As we started to walk back Chris stopped and looked back at my parents' headstone, "You don't need to worry about her, I will love her, protect her, never hurt her and keep her safe the rest of my life. We love and miss you both." Chris said. I looked at him as some tears fell down my cheeks. He wiped them away as he looked in my eyes. "I promise." Chris whispered to me. We finished walking to the car. We loaded Dodger back in and we headed to his moms' Chris held my hand the whole way, I think making sure I didn't lose it and start sobbing. Visting my parents was always hard for me.

I was sitting with the kids and Carly playing a boardgame at the coffee table I the living room as everyone else busied themselves in the kitchen or setting the table. The front door opened, and we looked to see Scott walk in, only he wasn't alone. He was with Steve, my nurse from the hospital I introduced him too. I smiled at both of them.

"Hush it." Scott said as he walked over to me and hugged me. I laughed as I hugged Steve as well.

"Nice to see you two together is all." I said and Scott smiled.

"Where is everyone?" Scott asked.

"Table and kitchen duty, we were free." I said.

"Nice. I should go say hi though." Scott said, Steve followed him as they walked into the kitchen. A few minutes later Chris came walking out with Shanna.

"How are you two free?" I asked as Chris sat on the floor next to me.

"Scott and Steve showed up late so mom put them to work." Chris said and I laughed.

We continued to play the game until we were called to dinner. Chris and I sat next to each other, and he had a hand on my upper thigh as we sat at the table.

"So...I have to ask..." Lisa said looking at Chris and me.

"Yes?" Chris asked.

"You two have known each other since you were kids and have always had this attraction..." Lisa trailed off and we looked at each other but gave a small nod.

"Yeah..." I said.

"So, when are you two going to just make it official?" Lisa continued.

"Official...as in...?" Chris asked.

"Married you dummy." Carly said and we both got big eyes in shock.

"Why are all of you asking this? I mean Scott asked, the girls asked, now Ma...you guys want me married off that bad?" Chris asked.

"Well, no not technically but I mean Chris you aren't getting any younger, neither is Ronnie."

"Wow, we were called old." I said and Chris chuckled.

"That isn't what I meant, and you know it missy." Lisa said in her mom voice, I knew she meant business. "Its just you guys don't need to take the whole getting to know each other stage, you know each other...what are you waiting for?" Lisa continued.

Chris and I just looked at each other.

"I like where Ronnie and I are right now in our relationship. We're happy and moving forward. After everything we went through earlier this year and leading to everything, we just want this time together." Chris said and I nodded. Everyone smiled at this answer.

"But eventually...maybe...?" Lisa asked and Chris grinned and winked when I looked at him.

"Yeah eventually." Chris said. I leaned in and gave him a small kiss as everyone went on with their own conversations.
