I walked into Scott's house and saw he was alone, which I was thankful for.

"You want something to drink?" Scott asked and I shook my head.

"No, I just want to talk and get this all over with." I said and Scott just sighed but nodded and we sat down on his couch. He then looked at me up and down and I just looked at him confused as he did. "What?" I annoyingly asked.

"Just...I haven't seen this look on you in a long time. If I didn't know what you looked like in this get up, I never would have opened the door to you." Scott said and I rolled my eyes.

"I can't always look perfect. I like to be comfy too." I said and Scott just half nodded. We were silent for a minute.

"What's going on Ronnie, are you really dating that old man?!" Scott spoke up. I just shook my head at his bluntness and boldness.

"...I'm not technically dating him..."

"Then what are you doing?" Scott asked.

"I'm an escort." The words rolled off of my tongue with no hint of hesitation, no fear, just truth.

Scott just looked at me for a few minutes in what I can only describe as a stunned silence since he kept going to speak but would stop. I let him get it through his head and decided to let him be the next one to speak.

"Did I hear you correctly?"

"What did you hear me say?" I questioned.

"You're an escort..."

"Then you heard correctly." I admitted.

"Why Ronnie?" Scott asked. I knew there was no reason to hold anything back and if I could talk to anyone about it, Scott would be the one who would listen and not judge.

"Listen, this wasn't the path I planned to take in my life. I need you to know it was never the path I wanted. As you know I went to college for accounting, and I had a job with dad's firm until mom and dad were killed. I couldn't work there anymore, I didn't want to work there anymore. After burying mom and dad, they had a nice sum of money that I was able to live on for the past 3 years, but the money is starting to run out. I needed a job. Well, there as always accounting but I didn't want to live in a run of the mill day in – day out job. One of my last days I was at the firm I had a client who was always checking her finances and they always just went up and up. She told me about this amazing job she had. She could tell I want out of the accounting firm. She said if I wanted a fun job to give her boss a call and slid a business card across my desk. I was nervous, I didn't know what to expect when I was told but they started me off slow. I was escorting men to company parties with no intentions of going further than just being a date or arm candy. It started getting serious when I started getting regulars and realized I didn't need to be scared of things going further. The guy you saw tonight was Carl and he is someone I have seen multiple times and he always calls asking for me." I explained and Scott sat there in shock taking it all in and trying to comprehend what he had just been told.

"What about dating on this job? Can you date?" Scott asked causing me to give a small laugh.

"I mean I'm sure I could if I wanted to but dating and I really don't mix and haven't for a long time." I said looking down at my lap.

"For how long Ronnie?" Scott asked.

"Since the Christmas party in 2003." I mumbled still looking at my lap and was fidgeting with the hem of the hoodie.

"I'm sorry since when?!" Scott semi yelled.

"I think it's time this is out in the open too and not only have it being Carly who knows. At the Christmas party in 2003 I was going to come clean to Chris about my feelings for him and I was going to pray he felt the same. It was time he knew. So, when he arrived, remember when I ran out?" I asked and Scott nodded. "Well, I ran outside to just do it out there since I didn't want to wait any longer. So, when I ran outside, I was met with him bringing Jessica to Christmas and I knew I missed my chance, I knew I didn't have a chance with him compared to her. No level of a makeover was going to make him see me. Chris was just the start of the downward spiral of men though. I have dated, I have had serious relationships and boyfriends. Eventually they all leave me for something better, something  prettier, something easier...anything they can think of. I just decided that dating isn't for me anymore, I want someone to love me for me and I wasn't finding that. So then I found this job. It was no strings attached, no lasting relationships, no commitments, no feelings...it was perfect." I said and Scott just slightly shook his head. I was making eye contact with him by this point. He just didn't know what else to say or do. I just unloaded a massive amount of news on him, and he was processing everything.

"Have you ever told anyone any of this?" Scott said.

"No! And you can't either!" I said raising my voice.

"Seriously?! You drop this bombshell on me and expect me not to say anything?!" Scott asked pissed off.

"Yes! Because if you do, I will tell Lisa about that time you came to visit me at college and you snuck that guy into my apartment when you thought I was asleep..." I trailed off with a small glare and Scott looked at me in shock.

"You would spill the biggest secret I have?!" Scott asked.

I knew he hadn't come out to his family yet even though I was sure they all knew so it wasn't as big of a secret as he thought it was. Although I was the only one to truly know since I saw the guy gathering clothes the next morning when I woke up.

"I would...so keep mine and I keep yours." I stuck my hand out and he groaned but we shook on it and then I leaned in and kissed his cheek.

"You want to stay the night, it's getting late?" Scott asked and I shook my head.

"No, I need to get home..." I said and Scott nodded. As we walked to the front door I looked at Scott.

"No one Scott, I'm serious." I said and he nodded.

"I got you." Scott said and I opened the door to almost get hit in the face as Chris went to knock on the door.

"Oh, Ronnie..." Chris said and then took in my appearance.

"I was just leaving, Scott's all yours." I said and went to walk past Chris, but he stopped me. "What?"

"Nothing I'm just taking in this look of yours. I mean the old Ronnie. I like this much better than you dressing in the tight clothes and showing off everything like a whore." Chris said. I took a sharp breath in shock.

"Chris..." I heard Scott grumble and as pulled back and smacked Chris across the face. I then tried hard to fight off the tears I had in my eyes as I shoved past Chris and walked away without saying anything. I got in my car and quickly left Scott's house now realizing giving Chris Evans a chance to be with me would never happen.
