Chapter 19

Nandini's pov

My eyes snap open as I sit up looking around me, I swear I I felt like I was back in that box, in that room again but seeing my bed curtains I calm down a little.

"Manik" I call seeing the bed empty but I don't hear anything

I mean usually whenever Manik and I would end up falling a sleep talking, he would be gone by the morning most of the time but it felt different. I grabbed the pillow he used bringing it close to my chest trying to calm down further

I would have called Cabir and navya but they weren't home, they had left to Shimla last night so I just stayed in bed for a couple minutes. Grabbing my phone I step down from my bed, but to my disappointment there was no message from manik so I decided to give him a call

The phone rings and to my surprise, it was right on the table, he left his phone here so then where did he go? I got up and wandered outside to the living room and to the kitchen but it was empty making me frown.

deciding to go to his house, I showered first and then grabbed his phone and mine walking over to his house, his car parked right up front in the driveway so I knew he was home. I walk in and straight up to his room but he wasn't home either so I got back home again.

An hour or two goes by when my front door opens making me run out to the living room. There he was, walking in wiht stuff in his hands

"You idiot, where were you?" I ask

"shh take this, it's about to fall" he says eyeing the drinks in his hands

I grab the drinks placing them on the kitchen counter, he follows me placing the plastic bags on the counter as well

"Where were you Manik? You scared the hell out of me" I ramble on

He smiles stepping closer wrapping his arms aorund me, just his cologne or whatever the hell he was wearing was enough to calm my sense down.

"Im sorry, I forgot my phone here" he whispers

"But where did you go?" I ask

"I wanted to make us breakfast but I remembered this cafe down the block so I went there after showering, whne I got there I realized I forgot my phone here"

"You scared me" I mumble in his chest

"Im sorry sweet pea" I hum holding the back of his shirt tighter

"Im here, don't panic, it's okay" I hear him

"I thought you left" I whisper

"No silly, where would I go? I will make sure to have my phone on me all the time so you can reach me at any time okay"

"Thank you"

"Come on, don't you wanna see what I got for us?" He asks

I pull back and sit up on the high stools in the kitchen, Manik starts grabbing stuff out of the bag placing it on the kitchen island making me smile wider with each item.

He got me yummy chocolate croissants, donuts, a sandwich of some kind and some other small packed things

"Mani what is this?" I ask grabbing the other bag

"Ah wait" he says grabbing it

He grabs a single rose wrapped in brown paper and the cutest little note stuffed in the front

"I know I have always been so mean to you and I am always yelling and screaming, but this rose signifies us and the beginning of something new. Something we don't know yet, something we are wanting to explore" he says
