Chapter 106: Examination Style?

I spent my time strolling through the royal capital and relaxing in Fer-san's secondary mansion while I waited for the day of my promotion exam. Oh and I had grown even closer with Cornelia-san in the last few days that I started calling her Corey-san.

"Hey, Corey-san... Do I really have to do this no matter what?"

"Of course! I've always thought that even though Ren-sama has such beautiful hair like this, Ren-sama is being too indifferent with its maintenance! And more importantly, today is a big day. I will make sure Ren-sama looks all beautiful and lovely so please leave everything to me!"

"Yes..."

I was being made to sit in front of the mirror with Corey-san, who was puffing her breath angrily as she combed my hair with the brush she held in one hand. She couldn't help but to notice that I always tied my shoulder-length hair into a ponytail haphazardly. Today she came to me and said,"please let me do your hair!!". She was asking me with such great vigor that I could do nothing but nod my head and so here I was now.

"Ah... Would you like me to cut your bang a little? If not, I can style it by pulling your long bang to the back so your forehead will be visible..."

"Ah, that's exactly what I needed now. I've been wanting to cut it. Please do so."

I had been wanting to cut my bangs ever since they reached my eyes but I just hadn't been able to do it yet so this was a perfect opportunity for me. Corey-san seemed like she was good with her hands too so I was sure she wouldn't mess my hair up. Well even if in the worst case she did mess it up, I could just shave my head since I was a man anyway. Though I think if I did that, Fer-san and the others would go crazy...

"Okay then I will cut it for you... Is it alright if I leave it this long?"

Corey-san procured a scissor out of nowhere and began to cut my bangs. The scissor made a sharp snapping sound everytime she cut my bangs. There wasn't much to cut though since it was just bangs so she was able to finish cutting my hair in no time. When I opened my eyes and saw my reflection in the mirror, I could see that my bangs, which had been covering my eyes before, were now hanging perfectly around my eyebrows. This new length made me felt so refreshed.

"Wow! You're so good at this! Now that we're finished...."

"What are you talking about? I haven't tied your hair yet! I will make sure your hairdo won't crumble even when you move a lot! Straight hair looks so good on you but let's curl it a little to give it some volume!"

"Please don't make it too flashy..."

I had thought we were already finished so I was about to leave but Corey-san suddenly puffed her breath again and urged me to sit down again.

"And we're done! Fufu~ This hairdo suits Ren-sama so much!"

"You're amazing. You were so quick at it but the end result looks so pretty and neat..."

After wrestling with my hair for 20 minutes, Corey-san finally handed a hand-mirror to me. She looked so satisfied with her work. The end of my hair was curled slightly and she weaved a small braid on both sides of my head before she pulled all of my hair together into one ponytail. The braid on both sides and the loosely curled hair made the whole look so stylish.

In Alsar, they also used a pair of iron heated by magic to curl someone's hair so I thought it might damage my hair but the liquid Corey-san had smothered all over my hair before the curling made my hair all glossy and shiny. Corey-san even fastened a red flower ornament on the root of my ponytail.
