Sig's POV

"I'm home~ Malik-san, are you there?"

Ren, who had been holding onto Fer's hand, let his hand go and ran inside Malik-san's house. Ren opened the door and called for Malik-san in a loud voice.

He's really attached to Malik-san, huh?

I heard they met in the fifth month so their parent-child relationship is only 4 months old. I don't really mind it since they don't seem to have romantic interest towards each other but... Well, in the first place, if Malik-san harbors romantic feelings toward Ren, he wouldn't have introduced Ren to us anyway.

"Ren! Welcome home! Are you hurt anywhere?"

"No, not at all."

Malik-san slowly emerged from the living room. He pat Ren's head before lightly tapping Ren's shoulder, checking for any visible injury.

I couldn't see Ren's face because he had his back turned toward me but judging from the tone of his voice, Ren sounded so happy to see Malik-san.

Ren and Malik-san were so engrossed in their reunion that they completely ignored us.

"Malik-san. Long time no see."

"Hello."

"Good day, Malik-san."

We offered our greetings to Malik-san, interrupting their reunion.

He's our future father in law. It's better to leave a good impression on him and besides, I really respect Malik-san as a person.

"Oh! You guys were here too?"

Malik-san looked genuinely surprised to see us. His shoulders slumped down dramatically, showing his clear disappointment.

"No.... I mean... We've been here the whole time, you know?"

This.... He supports our marriage to Ren, right...? He's not going to object to our marriage later on, right...?

"Well, it's fine I guess. Thanks for bringing Ren back. In any case, you guys are going to pick him up again tomorrow, right?"

With a crystal clear laugh, Malik-san asked about tomorrow's plans with Ren.

"Huh? Yes. We're planning to go to the guild together tomorrow to complete the quest and sell the materials we've gathered..."

Exactly. Like what Fer had explained, tomorrow we would be going to the guild to give Desert Lizard's tails and we also have to sell the materials from other monsters we had hunted.

Now then, I wonder how much money we'll get this time?

"Alright. From here on out, it's time for some long-awaited father-son bonding time. Now, Ren... Tell your father how your quest went."

Malik-san said as he put his arm around Ren's shoulder, pulling Ren close to him.

Even though Malik-san had retired, it seemed he still enjoyed hearing stories about people's quest and above all, he probably wanted to hear about his beloved son's adventures.

"We'll be heading home first then. Ren-kun, we'll come back tomorrow morning to pick you up."

Fer was the first person to say goodbye to Ren.

Ren slowly slipped out from Malik-san's tight hug and approached Fer.

"Mmh...."

Ren stretched his body as much as he could, reaching for Fer's neck. He then put his arm around Fer's neck and pulled Fer close to him before he placed a chaste kiss on Fer's cheek with his soft, pink lips.
