Before my eyes, I watched as Vicky gulped down the mug heartily.

Wouldn't she get alcohol poisoning if it was alcohol inside the mug?

I sat across the table, watching in amazement as the contents of the mug quickly disappeared.

"Are you feeling calmer now, Victoria?"

The petite woman sitting next to Vicky-san asked while gently rubbing Vicky-san's back. By petite, I meant she was petite by Alsar standards.

"Yeah. I'm fine, Amy."

Huh? Didn't Malik-san call her Vicky just now? Oh, maybe Victoria is her full name?

"You're getting too agitated, Vicky."

Seemingly exasperated, Malik-san sighed heavily as he stared at the two. Indeed. Vicky-san became too agitated and because Vicky-san didn't go back inside yet, this woman became concerned. Upon seeing the mess, she then brought us all inside.

"There's no way I wouldn't get excited! My big brother, who never showed any intention in getting married, suddenly showed up with such a cute little son!"

In response to Malik-san's words, Vicky-san slammed the empty mug she had been holding onto the table with a loud bang.

At first, I was curious why she was so flustered back at the entrance, but when she put it that way, I guess her reaction did make sense. It might had been better had Malik-san brought a baby with him, but I was already an adult, although I was small.

"No rumors reached Vakkai? Have I become so insignificant that I'm not the bane for gossip anymore?"

Malik-san hung his head down, seemingly shocked that the rumors of him adopting a son hadn't reached Vakkai.

Well, Malik-san said on the road that Vicky-san might have already known about us... I guess Malik-san is feeling dejected because he failed to look cool in front of his son, huh....

"There are just far too many rumors about my Brother-in-law. So we've decided to not trust any of it."

"I see... Yeah, I guess that makes sense."

Ah, I see... There won't be no end to it if they believed in every single rumor. But... Brother-in-law?

The petite woman sitting across from me called Malik-san 'brother-in-law'. I thought she was Vicky-san and Malik-san's little sister. I thought Malik-san and Vicky-san were taking after their father while this petite woman was taking after their mother instead.

"So? Care to tell us more about it? Onii-san?"

"Who-Whoa-!"

Vicky-san leaned forward on the table. However, since we intruded during their dinner time, there were partially eaten dishes on the table. Vicky-san almost got some of them on her clothes. Noticing this, the petite woman quickly moved the dishes away from Vicky-san.

"What's there to talk about... This boy is Ren. He's an otherworlder. I happened to be the first person to find him so I adopted him and made him my son. He's now working as an adventurer."

"So that makes Onii-san my cousin then! Yay! Mama is an only child and Okaa-san's brother isn't married so I didn't have any cousins until now! I'm so happy! My name is Alice! Onii-san,is it okay if I call you Ren?"

Malik-san explained our backgrounds briefly and Alice, who had been quietly eating some sort of a stew while watching the adults talking, suddenly stood up and dashed over to me.

"Umm.. Yeah. I'm Ren. Alice-chan, I'd be happy if we could get along well."

I gently patted Alice-chan's head.
