"Then, I'm heading out now."

"Be careful out there."

"Yes, Malik-san."

This morning, we had finished moving into our new house and took a short nap during the day. In the early evening, when the sun was beginning to set, we left the town, with Malik-san seeing us off. Although I said "moving" but in actuality we only put our large bed and the leftover food in the refrigerator in a magic bag and then placed the bed in our room. As for the food from the refrigerator, I kept it inside my magic bag and brought them along for this quest.

Malik-san had a day off today so he came to see me off at the town's gate.

I was riding William and when I looked back briefly from Chris-san's arms, I could saw Malik-san leaning against the gate. Noticing me looking back at him, Malik-san then waved his hand lightly at me.

I turned around to wave back at him before facing forward. After making sure I was already prepared, Chris-san motioned for William to increase the pace and the horses began to run. It would take us 3 days to reach the Tameran Desert. This would be the longest trip I had ever done so far.

『Master! We're here so you will be just fine! I will protect Master! 』

『Ha! Master doesn't need you. I'm more than enough to protect Master. 』

『What did you say?!』

Altair, who was flying beside me, chirped in confidently. While Spica, who was running alongside the horses, snorted his nose in response.

Starting today, my contractual beast would be staying outside to guard me. They wouldn't need to return to the rings. These two started bickering right after we left the town.

I mean, I know that they don't actually hate each other. Instead, they're actually close enough to be able to fight playfully like this. However, I wish they could tone down the fighting a little bit....

"Haa... Don't fight, okay? We're already leaving the town so the two of you can revert back to your original size."

If I left them be, they would keep on fighting to no end so I had to scold them a bit.

Since the two of them were still remaining in their compact size as they ran and flew respectively, I suggested they return to their original size, since it would be difficult for them to keep up with William and the other's pace in their small size.

『Indeed. It will be hard to keep up with them pace if we stay small.』

『Right on. Though, if they're willing to give us a ride, we won't have that problem in the first place.』

Spica nodded and while running, gradually changed back to his original size. At the same time, Altair also returned to his original size. His small wings, which had been so busy flapping around just a moment ago, shifted into a big pair of wings that moved gracefully and leisurely.

Spica looked at me and chided in with a hint of spite in his voice.

Well, he's not wrong....

Although it seemed Spica and Altair could communicate with William and the others, but their relationship wasn't good enough for the horses to allow my contractual beast to hop on them for a ride. In the first place, Altair and Spica were magical beasts, a slightly different species to a beast horse.

"What's Altair and Spica talking about?~"

"Yeah, I'm curious too. It seems they're talking about the horses? Oscar looks a bit agitated since earlier."
