***JACOB POV***
What in the actual f#ck? Mr. Sharp stood before us with a sinister smile. What was wrong with this guy? Morgan says he's mean to me cuz of sh#t that went down when she was in high school, but that was like a decade ago. My dude needs to chill.
"Excuse me?" Issac said, his face losing any sign of his signature smile.
"You heard me. You boys are wanted in Principal Howard's office. They've got a couple of officers in there and everything,"
Whatever was going on, it was bullsh#t. I'd better just get this over with. If officers are involved, I don't want to fight against anything cuz that would totally make me look guilty. I stood from the table, expecting Issac to do the same. Instead he still sat refusing to look at Mr. Sharp.
"Let me take River to her next class first,"
"I don't think so," Mr. Sharp said, leaning in closer to the table.
Then Issac's hand snapped out and grabbed River without asking. She let out a small yelp as she was lifted off the table and brought into Issac's lap. What the f#ck? She doesn't need Issac to take her to class. That's what all these e-scooters and elevators are for. Not to mention, that River is apparently super bruised up along her torso- so what does Issac Green do?- Grab her around her torso. Mother earth!
"Issac, don't grab her like that!" I hissed. As if just realizing what he'd done, Issac's eyes grew wide as his grip around River visibly loosened. Finally when Issac deposited River back on the human pedestal next to the elevator, River looked around with wide eyes clearly unsure of what to do.
"You boys have 10 seconds to get a move on before I have the cops come here and escort you themselves,"
"I'll uh, see you guys later," River piped up as she wheeled her e-scooter into the human sized elevator, disappearing from our view.
Mr. Sharp, Issac, and I were silent as we marched out of the co-ed lunchroom, weaving through the 4 hallways it took to get to the principal's office. I really wish I wasn't so familiar with the principal's office. Once we arrived, the secretary, Mrs. Porter, looked at us with wide judgy eyes. What the heck? It was then that I saw how correct Mr. Sharp had been. Right outside of Principal Howard's office stood a giant officer with a human officer on his shoulder. As if sensing we'd arrived, Principal Howard stepped out of his office with a tense sharp look across his face.
"Boys. We have some officer's here to speak with you,"
Issac let out a ragged breath. It was then that I saw how freaked out Issac looked. I guess it's pretty normal to be jumpy around law enforcement. Especially if you don't already have a parent in jail and haven't spent entirely too much time daydreaming about getting the chance to visit jail. No, that was probably just me.
"Jacob. Issac. Alright, one at a time, these officers would like to have a word with you," Principal Howard said, seeming to avoid eye contact with us now.
"Wait- why do they want to talk to us? I- I don't know w-what-"
I found myself having to fight the urge to roll my eyes. A glisten of sweat had broken out across Issac's forehead. My dude was freaking out. I on the other hand had no intention of talking to these officers. At least, not alone.
"Issac, how old are you?" I asked.
"S-sixteen,"
"Yeah, same... Looks like we need a parent or guardian present."
Principal Howard sighed dramatically before asking the secretary to call Mr. Green, who should be getting ready to teach his own 5th hour class right about now. Then Principal Howard asked the secretary to call my mom. Pssh, this is one circumstance I definitely wanted them to call my dad. When the secretary did connect with my mom, she held the phone out towards me, beckoning for me to come take over.
