I always been told that your signature is important. It provided proof that a legal agreement was made between parties. It makes it a legal binding. More so, it helps you get out of jail. I finished printing my name on the appropriate line before placing the pen down. The officer pulled the clipboard towards her then looked at the paper. She started typing on the computer and I stood there waiting.

Never in all twenty-six years of my life have I ever been in this predicament. I never been arrested or sat in the back of a cop car. I never had to sit for a long period of time with other criminals as I waited to be assisted. I also never had to sign a release form to avoid incarceration.

"Alright, Mr. Langston, there's no need for a follow up which means you are free to go. Please assure you have all of your belongings before leaving." The lady told me while sliding a basket my way.

I took out my stuff which wasn't much besides my wallet, belt, and phone. I handed her the basket back, signed another form, and was finished. I made my way out the station, tired and in need of a shower. Desperately. I never felt more dirty than how I felt right now.

The sun wasn't even up when I stepped outside. It was only two in the morning and I been here for at least six hours. That's how long I had to wait. I walked to my cab that I had called in advance. I didn't want to spend any more time in this place.

"Good morning. The Coral Royale is my destination, sir," I told him. He gave me a head nod and we were off.

I slouched down in the seat and tossed my head back. I shut my eyes and the first thing that came to mind was last night. I wasn't trying to do anything. I swear. God knows I didn't want to do it. He heard my heart crying out for my mind to stop the thoughts of beating his ass. But my brain took over and next thing I knew I was fighting.

When I went back inside the restaurant, Eli was sitting at the table like it was nothing. He asked where Xena was and that set me off. I sent the first punch and we began fighting after that. In a luxurious area too which is why I didn't want to do anything at first. But in the back of my mind was Xena's face that expressed sadness, embarrassment, regret, and uncomfortableness.

I didn't like that.

We came out here to enjoy ourselves and I be damned if she couldn't enjoy dinner because of some creep bothering her. Back to the fight. It was intense. We both did what we had to do. I can't say who won but that didn't matter to me either way. I did what I had to do for Xena. Nothing more and nothing less. I was bruised though. My knuckles were bloody and my eye had puffed up. I didn't feel any pain and I still didn't at the moment.

Later on, I'm sure I was going to feel it.

When the cab finally arrived at the villa, I thanked the driver and tipped him. I got out and made my way inside, going right to the elevator. I repeatedly pressed the button for it to come down faster and stepped on once the doors opened. I was glad we weren't up that high so I didn't have to wait that long. I rested against the wall, using the short amount of time I had to get some rest. I needed to sleep for a few hours before being active for the day.

I refused for this minor inconvenience to ruin the rest of our trip. Once I got off the elevator and walked to our room, I saw Thomas standing in front of the door. I knew we were going to be in good hands when I hired him. He reminded me of Davon back at home.
