"If it isn't my favorite daughter!" Pastor Dorsey exclaimed, putting his arms out. Harmony walked into his arms and hugged him tight.
After yesterday events, I work up brand new. Refreshed even. I'm not sure if it was because of the fashion show or the kiss with Kasey. I was leaning more towards the kiss since I never felt more relieved and ecstatic before. The last time I was kissed by a man it was too much. The guy barely knew what he was doing and was being so forceful with it. I know I shouldn't be comparing but I had to.
And someone else would too if they experienced something as perfect as that kiss yesterday. I even fell asleep and woke up with it on my mind. That's how amazing it was. I wondered if Kasey felt the same way about it. I wanted to ask but I didn't want to make things awkward. I was very curious though.
Anyway, to help out my brand new self, I came to church with Harmony. I've been real picky with attending any church out here. I didn't just like anyone as a pastor. You had to have standards and some of these new preachers didn't. Which is why I was hesitant on coming here. But Harmony's dad was exactly the preacher I was searching for. So, I was going to come back surely.
"I'm your only daughter, Daddy" Harmony laughed. Pastor Dorsey kissed her forehead and I saw the biggest smile showing on Harmony's face. It was obvious that she was a daddy's girl. I didn't know much about her family but I'm sure she deserved all the loving this man was giving her.
They pulled away from each other then Pastor Dorsey placed his attention on me. "And who is this?" She questioned.
Harmony grabbed my hand and pulled me a little. "This is my new best friend, Xena. Xena this is my Dad, which I'm sure you already figured out." She introduced us.
I held my hand out in front of me. "Nice to meet you, Pastor." I nicely said.
He smiled at me then shook my head. "It's nice to meet you too, Xena. You are very beautiful," he complimented.
"She's married, Daddy." Harmony made known with some sass.
Pastor Dorsey playfully rolled his eyes, making me snicker. "I'm aware child. I see the diamond ring on her finger." He said, letting go of my hand.
"Did you enjoy the service?" He changed the subject.
"Oh yes!" I exclaimed, nodding my head. "It was beautiful and definitely what I've been searching for. I actually told Harmony that I've been real picky with pastors since coming out here."
"Understandable. I'm glad you enjoyed the service and I hope to see you again."
"Absolutely!" I nodded, knowing that I was definitely going to be coming back.
He nodded, "I'm glad to hear that. I'm always happy to have new members. Maybe you'll be able to convince Harmony to come more often." He remarked, giving Harmony a side eye.
"I already told you, Daddy, I'm not here often because of work. But I'm trying, I promise." She informed him.
"But that husband of yours doesn't." He retorted. I could hear the annoyance in his tone, making me raise my brows. I looked at Harmony then heard her sigh.
