Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
March 6th

"Yesss!" Xena screamed at the top of her lungs, stopping soon as she entered the room. I assumed the sight of it really made her this excited. It was cute.

She entered the room more, tossing her purse on the bed and looked around. I walked in the room with our baggage handler behind me. We were finally here at our villa in Punta Cana. I never realized how beautiful the Dominican Republic was. I haven't been down here for a while, reason why I had to come back out here. Work was stressing me out and I needed some time alone.

Well, time with Xena, I guess.

I continued hearing her screams in joy as she entered one room to the next. I chuckled, allowing her to have her moment. Reaching in my pocket, I took out my wallet and pulled out a couple hundred dollar bills. I handed the cash to the baggage handler and he thanked me before leaving. I shut the door soon as he was gone. Once I turned around, I saw Xena standing at the edge of the bed.

She tossed her hands out then plopped back on the bed. She started giggling and that made me smile. Seeing her excited about this trip was one of the best sights I ever saw in a while. I know I made the right choice asking her to come out with me. It wasn't like I was going to leave her anyway, that would be rude. Plus I knew she needed to get out of New York.

Out the country even.

"Do you like it?" I questioned, making my presence known. She threw her head back on the head so she was looking at me upside down. I don't know why she didn't just sit up but I didn't bother her.

"I'm in love!" She exclaimed then started laughing. She fixed herself then stood to her feet, her hands landing on her hips.

"One bed though?" She asked, looking at the king sized bed. I scratched the back of my head, forgetting about that. It was too late to make any changes so I couldn't get two. I had already thought everything through.

"Right. I couldn't make any changes, sorry about that," I apologized.

"I can sleep on the sofa and you can have the bed to yourself. I don't mind," I suggested, slipping my hands in my pockets.

She scrunched up her face then shook her head. "Nah, we can share. Just keep your hands to yourself," she informed me and pointed. The serious look she was giving me made me rethink about saying a joke.

It wasn't the time and I knew that.

"Absolutely." I nodded my head, keeping it at that. I'll save my jokes for later when the mood was there. For now, we were settling in and I allowed that to happen. I grabbed the both of our suitcases and carried it to the bed.

Before I could get it open, my phone rang. When I took it out, I saw Jessica calling me. Hopefully, this wasn't an emergency and didn't require me to come to the hospital. Because that wasn't happening.

"Hello," I picked up the phone.

"Hello, sir. I didn't want to interrupt your trip but I need to know if it's alright for me to look through your files. We're trying to find a death certificate for a patient, Harrison, if you remember him," Jessica went right to it.
