From Wifey🥰❤️😘:
Are you alright?

To Wifey🥰❤️😘:
Yes I'm alright. Just ready to leave. This hospital is always filled with some BS.

From Wifey🥰❤️😘:
Your job is chaotic

From Wifey🥰❤️😘:
Do yk what's going on exactly? Like details on the situation?

To Wifey🥰❤️😘:
A domestic violence incident. Patient came in and told a colleague of mine that her husband was abusing her and he pulled out a gun when the police tried to get ahold of him. Now we're in lockdown while they try to diffuse the situation.😏

Ik this is a serious situation but that made me cackle sorry lol

There was always something occurring at Mount Sinai and on today's episode of unbelievable events was a code silver. Or in non-medical terms, a weapon and hostage situation. I was in my office, catching up on paper work that filled my desk daily, when several of my colleagues rushed in and the code was spoken over the loud speaker. Then buzzed on my pager. That was nearly two hours ago.

And yet, we were still here waiting the issue out with no information provided about it. This was my first time dealing with a code silver since being here. I dealt with others like a code blue, code grey, code pink, yellow, and purple. Those were just a few. All of them were dangerous and put everyone at risk but a code silver had the rest of them beat in my opinion. Well besides a code yellow which is a bomb threat but thankfully those never went past just a threat.

Regardless, this issue was outrageous. I had no idea what was happening so being clueless was just as ridiculous. In the midst of all these drama though, I could rely on Xena to take my mind off of it. For a slight moment at least.

"Kasey." Jessica called my name, tapping her nail on my desk.

I gave her the meanest glare that I could simply for her talking to me. At this point, I was about to file a harassment report against her. That might fire her, which wouldn't necessarily be my intention, but I wanted her to leave me be. If I had to go down that route then so be it. I honestly didn't know any other way to make it clear that I didn't want to talk. This woman could not take a hint.

"I think we should finish our conversation, Kasey. I wasn't done talking to you about what went on and I'd like to do that." She informed me as if I cared.

"Jessica, how come you're having a difficult time understanding that I don't want to speak to you? Am I not speaking English or something?" I rudely asked. I never liked to be mean but sometimes people asked for it. Like Jessica.

"I'm understanding perfectly fine. Why aren't you understanding that we need to have a conversation. We ended things off badly." She told me. I eased myself out of this conversation and went back to my phone.
