Scarlett’s POV
“Hey sexy.” Louri says through the screen we’ve been talking as much as we can after the interview. “Louri I’ve got the kids with me.” I say.  “Of course you do.” She chuckles. “I get clingy and I am going to take advantage of all the times they do want to snuggle with their moms as much as I can.” I tell her. “Hey I don’t blame you I do it too.” She says. “Is that Mama?” Devon’s tired voice comes from behind me. I roll onto my back so he can see the phone. “Good morning little Marine.” Louri says, making him smile at the name. “I thought it’s afternoon for you?” He says and he’s not wrong. “It is but it’s morning for you.” She says and Louisa wiggles herself into fame making me chuckle at her. Maya soon follows. “Looks like my whole crew is there.” Louri says. “What are you doing?” Maya asks since Louri is walking around. “I’m going to get some food sweetie.” Louri says and we hear a familiar voice before the phone is taken from Louri. “MY NEPHEW AND NIECES!!” Greg yells, taking Louri's phone and now is running from Louri who is yelling something I can’t make out. “Hey guys.” Greg says. “Uncle Greggy!” Devon cheers. “Yep it’s me how are you guys doing?” He asks just as Louri jumps on his back. “Give me the phone!” She says. “No.” He laughs. “Hi honey.” I laugh. “Hello.” She says as Greg tries to shake her off his back. “Why they weird?” Louisa asks. “They just are.” I shrug and she accepts this. “Mama can take him.” Devon says confidently. “You bet your ass.” Louri says with a grunt. “Louri language.” I scold. “Sorry dear.” She says. After laughing at Greg and Louri struggling for the phone for a good five minutes Louri wins and helps Greg off the ground. “As I was saying, I am going to get food.” Louri says out of breath the kids giggling at how childish she is at times. “You guys enjoy that?” Louri laughs, the kids just nod and I laugh. “It was pretty funny seeing you on Gregs back like that.” I say and Louri’s facial expression changes. “Hey kids, why don’t you go get ready for the day I’ll talk to you guys later ok. Go on.” Louri tells them and they listen. “Louri what’s happening?” I ask. “I love you.” She says before I hear a bang and the phone goes flying. “LOURI!! ANSWER ME DAMN IT!!” I scream after closing the bedroom door. I can’t take my eyes off the screen as I see Marines running in the direction Louri was and I hear yelling but I can’t make it out and more explosions but they soon stop. “HELLO!! LOURI!!” I scream at the phone. “I’ve got the Colonel!! I need a medic!!” I hear O’Reily yell and I slide down the door onto the floor. “Colonel, we can get your phone later.” I hear Klinger say. “No, I was on the phone with Scarlett!! Someone find the phone!!” I hear her order thank god she’s alive. “I’ve found it! Hello Ma’am.” Kelly says. “She’s still on the phone Colonel!” Kelly yells to her. “Tell her I’m alive!” She yells. “I heard her.” I tell Kelly. “She said she heard you.” Kelly yells and I hear footsteps get closer and Greg takes the phone. “Scarlett she’s in one piece and will call you later ok.” Greg says. “Let me see her.” I demand. “Scarlett. I don’t think.” He says but I cut him off. “That’s an order Lieutenant!” I yell I have no idea if I have any power to do that but I’m going to try. “Yes Ma’am.” Greg says shocked at me using his title. “Here she’s not happy.” Greg says. “Scarlett honey are you sitting?” Louri asks the camera pointing to her boots that are covered in sand and dirt. “Yeah I’m on the floor.” I say. “Why? Did you fall? Are you ok?” She asks, panicking, the phone still pointing at her boots. “I didn’t fall, I slid down and will probably need your mothers help to get up thanks to being eight months pregnant.” I say. “Oh ok. I got worried.” She says with a sigh. “Louri, why won’t you turn the camera?” I ask. “I’m ok I promise.” She says turning the phone, showing a medic tending to a gash on her head. “OK! YOU ARE BLEEDING!!” I scream seeing the blood on her face and collar of her shirt. “I’ll be fine.” She says. “You need more help than we can give here. You need scans to make sure there isn’t any internal bleeding in your brain or body.” The medic says “Internal bleeding? That’s bad isn’t it that could, oh fuck.” I say lunging for the trash can and throwing up what little I had in my stomach.

Louri’s POV
“Thank you for scaring my pregnant wife you asshole.” I yell at the medic. “Well you’ll be able to see her soon because you are going stateside.” He says. “What hospital?” Scarlett asks after throwing up in a trash can. “Most likely Walter Reed. I’ll keep you updated.” I tell her. “You saw it coming didn’t you. That’s why you made the kids leave.” I say and she nods. “It landed a couple feet from me and well you saw the rest. I didn’t actually see it till the last minute but I heard it coming. I didn’t want them to see what you did.” She says as it looks as she is loaded onto a gurney. “Honey I have to go I will call you back ok.” I tell Scarlett. “Ok.” She says through tears. “One last thing. Don’t bring the kids to the hospital, keep them in LA with Ma.” I tell her and she nods.

Scarlett’s POV
I heard from Louri’s doctor that she is going to be taken to Walter Reed so I packed a bag and booked a flight to DC before even telling anyone what happened. “What’s going on?” Lisa asks from my doorway. “I need you to take care of the kids. Louri’s been hurt and they are taking her to Walter Reed. I did talk to her. She's being stubborn and keeps saying she’ll be fine like she always does. I have to go.” I tell Lisa and start to get ready to leave. “Wait, that's my daughter! What happened?” Lisa asks. “We were on the phone on a video call. When it happened I don’t want to think about it right now. I can tell you she will be ok.” I say. “You saw it happen?” Lisa asks and I nod. “Be safe and you call me the minute you get to her.” She tells me. “I will.” I say and rush out of the house lying to the kids saying I am needed in New York for work.
I get to my plane and breakdown once it takes off. Thank god I booked a private plane because I’m a mess. “Ma’am is there anything I can get for you?” The hostess asks. “A time machine.” I joke. “Sorry Ma’am I’m all out of those.” She jokes back. “Um, I would love some water please.” I tell her and she nods and goes and gets me a bottle of water and a blanket. “In case you get cold.” She says. “Thank you.” I say. “Of course Ma’am.” She says before disappearing into the cockpit.
When I get to the hospital they tell me that Louri’s transport is still a few hours out but they are able to take me to the room she will be in and I lay on the couch with a small blanket they gave me. “Your Mama is strong, she'll be ok.” I say to my stomach before I get comfortable and try to get some sleep.
