Louri’s POV
“Thanks for making breakfast Liz.” I say as she starts working on breakfast. “It’s no problem you know I love to cook and I’m sure five month pregnant Scarlett doesn’t always want to cook.” She says. “That is true.” Scarlett says. “I’ll get it.” Mel says when we hear a knock on the door and less than a second after we hear Melanie open it we hear her slam it shut making me jump. “I’m right here.” Scarlett says placing her hand on my thigh to comfort me. “Who was it?” I ask but judging by the look on her face I think I already know. “I told her not to come near you guys or my grandkids but did she listen no she doesn’t.” Melanie rants as we hear the door open and Melanie looks like she’s about to lose it. “Just let me..” “OUT!! GET THE FUCK OUT!!” I snap, ok I didn’t realize just how mad I was till now. “Please.” She says and I notice Scarlett’s just staring at her coffee so she doesn’t have to look at my mother. “You are a meany! You made my Mommy cry!” Devon yells. “Look Devon I..” Scarlett snaps when Ma puts her hand on Devon’s shoulder. “GET AWAY FROM HIM!! DON’T TOUCH MY SON!!” She screams and I am glad the twins are out back with Robbie since Louisa hates yelling. When Devon hears Scarlett yell at Ma to get away from him he comes to my side. “Devon, go join your sisters.” I tell him. “Yes Mama.” He says and goes out back. “Ma I told you they didn’t want you here let's go.” Chris says coming into the room. “Did you drive her here knowing we didn’t want her here?” Scarlett asks angrily. “No, she took an Uber I followed in my car. I told her not to come.” He says. “Get her out of my house Chris I don’t care if you have to carry her just get her out and away from my wife.” I say sternly. “Will you just…” Ma is cut off by Melanie slapping her across the face hard. “That is for making my baby girl relive hell!” She says thank god she waited till Devon had gone to join his sisters and Robbie in the back before she did that. “Ma let’s go.” Chris says and he does indeed pick her up and carry her out. “I don’t know what came over me. I was just so angry that she hurt Scarlett and I just felt this overwhelming urge to protect her.” Melanie says, staring at her hand. “I know violence is never the answer. I just couldn’t stop myself. I felt I had to protect Scarlett. I felt I had to protect my baby. I should have gone about it a different way. I don't think I’ve ever hit someone like that. Louri I’m sorry I hit your mother.” Melanie rambles. “You did what you felt like you had to do to protect your child trust me I get that.” I tell her. “You aren’t mad at me?” Melanie asks. “Well I’m not exactly happy she is my mother after all but I’m not really all that mad either. I hate what she did to Scarlett last night. But you acknowledged that violence is never the answer and you clearly feel remorse. So no I’m not mad at you but I do agree that you could have gone about it in a different way.” I tell her. “I’ll apologize next time I see her if I ever do at all.” She says and I nod. “She had some nerve to come back here less than twelve hours after what she did.” Liz says through gritted teeth. “Agreed.” I say. “I’m sorry for getting between you and your mother Baby.” Scarlett says and she looks like she’s going to cry. “Oh no don’t do that, don't blame yourself. You did absolutely nothing wrong. My mother set you into such a bad PTSD episode that you truly thought you were back there. That is unexceptable. She is the one who caused the divide, not you.” I say pulling Scarlett into a hug. “Great now she’s calling.” I groan and send her to voicemail only for her to continue to keep calling no matter how many times I send her to voicemail. After almost two hours of her constantly calling I have had enough and I block her number. I focus all my energy on my wife and kids for the rest of the day.

Scarlett’s POV
Louri has told me multiple times that it’s not my fault that she won’t talk to her mother but I still can’t help but feel a little guilty even though I know I didn’t cause it. She ended up blocking her mother’s number since Lisa wouldn’t stop calling and Louri just spent the whole day just focusing on me and the kids of course we had to watch Frozen which has become a daily thing and I am just used to it now and no matter how many times we watch it Louri still will sing along to it with Devon every time it’s quite cute. Liz and Robbie are staying over this time they are staying in the guest room and Liz isn’t sleeping in bed with Louri and I. It’s sweet how much Liz cares for the ones she loves and how she’ll take care of them when they need her. And her new show WandaVision is coming out soon and I am very excited to see it. MARVEL has never done something like this before and I am so proud of Liz being the first one to do it. “The kids are asleep.” Louri sighs as she enters our room. “That’s good. Gizmo has been keeping me company while you were taking care of the kids.” I tell her as I pet the black ball of fur in my lap making him purr. “Well that’s good.” She says crawling into bed and then opens her arms for me to lay in and I melt into her touch. “I love you Baby.” She says kissing the top of my head as it rests on her chest. “I love you too, Marine.” I tell her and lean up to give her a kiss that we both melt into.

Louri’s POV
“Mama. Mama.” I hear Devon say as he shakes my arm. “What is it, little Marine?” I ask groggily. “I had a bad dream. Can I sleep with you and Mommy?” He asks. “Of course you can come here.” I say and lift up the blankets and he crawls right in and snuggles into my side. “Do you want to talk about it?” I ask. “It was about Grandma being mean to Mommy.” He sniffles great not only did my Ma hurt Scarlett and I she hurt my son too. “But you protected Mommy like you always do.” He adds. “Devon, how much did you hear the other night?” I ask. “I heard Grandma Lisa say it was Mommy’s fault that you got hurt once but I know that’s not true because Mommy loves you too much to hurt you.” He says. “Well your Grandma Lisa was wrong and out of line. You are right, your Mommy would never do anything to hurt me or you and your siblings.” I tell him. “I know. Mommy is a good person just like you.” He says. “She is an amazing person. Now why don’t you try and get some sleep, you are safe with Mommy and me.” I tell him and he nods and it doesn’t take long for him to fall asleep and I drift off soon after.
