Chapter 46

Louri’s POV
I had arrived home before Scarlett, which was a given since she had to bring the ladies home. I parked my bike in the garage and walked into the house and hung up my jacket. “Looks like she like the surprise,” mom says, as she’s sitting at the island drinking tea. “Yes she did, thank you for helping me out with watching the kids, how were they by the way?” I ask. “They were perfect, they didn’t fuss about bedtime, I read them a story and they all fell asleep relatively quickly,” she tells me. “Good, I’m glad they all went to bed without any issues,” I tell her. I walk over to the fridge and grab a bottle of water and decide to make hot chocolate for when Scarlett arrives home. Mom calls it a night and heads upstairs. A few minutes later I hear the garage door and Scarlett walks in. I walk over to her and help her take off her jacket and hand her the hot chocolate. “I made you hot chocolate to keep you warm,” I say to her. “Thank you Louri,” she says and takes a sip. I smile and give her a kiss on the cheek. We walk into the living room and sit on the couch and she snuggles into me. “I still can’t believe you pulled off that surprise,” she tells me. “Well I know how much you don’t like being away from me for a long period of time and I wanted it to be a surprise to cheer you up and Leticia was great at helping me with the surprise too,” I tell her. “I loved it,” she says, laying her head on my chest and I wrap my arms around her. After some time we decided to head upstairs and go to bed. Scarlett immediately attaches to me once I lay in bed, we kiss a couple times and fall asleep.

Scarlett’s POV
In the middle of the night I hear something outside our bedroom door. “Louri, baby wake up I think one of the kids is up,” I say to her. She wakes up and walks over to the door and opens it and sees Louisa standing there crying. “What’s wrong sweetie?” She asks, as she picks her up. “I wet my bed,” she tells Louri. “Aww that’s ok sweetie, it happens sometimes. Let’s get you cleaned up and you can lay with mommy while I go change your sheets, ok?" Louri asks, making Louisa nod her head. She carries her into the bathroom and helps her get cleaned up and changed and walks out and lays her on the bed next to me. “Mommy, are you mad that I wet the bed?” She asks me. “No honey, it happens, it was just an accident,” I tell her, brushing some hair out of her face. She snuggles into me and I hold her close. Louri walks back into the room a few minutes later and gets into bed and Louisa switches to her side. I don’t mind, I know she likes the comfort from Louri as well. We then fall back asleep. In the morning, Louisa is on my chest holding me close, making me smile. I love moments like this, when they are clingy. I cherish all of it because I know they’ll eventually grow up and not want to cuddle with their mommy anymore. Louri stirs awake and sees us laying together. She smiles and whispers good morning. “Good morning,” I whisper back. We lay here for a while just enjoying the moment together. After some time, Louisa stirs awake and looks up at me. “Good morning honey,” I say to her. “Good morning mommy,” she says with a smile that brightens my day. I give her a kiss on the forehead, “did you sleep good?” I ask. “Yes, you comfy,” she says, making me and Louri laugh. “Im going to head downstairs and make breakfast,” Louri says. “Mama, I come too?” Louisa asks. “Sure thing little one,” she says and gets up and picks her up carrying her downstairs. I get up and go check on Maya and Devon. They are both still sleeping peacefully. I return to our room and decide to take a hot shower. After the relaxing shower I walk into the bedroom and change into some comfy clothes and walk back into Devon’s room to wake him up. “Angel, it’s time to wake up,” I tell him, rubbing his back slowly. “Five more minutes mommy,” he says making me chuckle. “Ok five more minutes,” I tell him and get up and go over to the girls room and wake up Maya. Luckily she gets up without any issues. She gives me a hug and I hug her back and give her a kiss on the cheek. “Mama is making breakfast,” I tell her, making her nod and head downstairs. I walk back into Devon’s room and wake him up again, thankfully he gets up this time and rubs the sleep out of his eyes. “Good morning mommy,” he says. “Good morning Angel, mama is making breakfast,” I tell him. We head downstairs together and see that Louri has everything plated. “Good morning little marine,” Louri greets Devon. “Good morning mama,” he says, hugging her leg. We sit down and enjoy breakfast together. “Oh,” I say and put my hand on my stomach. “Everything ok?” Louri asks me, with concern in her eyes. “Yes, just Thomas kicking,” I say. “Can I feel?” Devon asks. I nod and place his hand on my stomach. “Woah, I felt him kick!” He exclaims. “Yes he’s a little active this morning,” I tell him, smiling. Once we finish breakfast, I decide to go lay on the couch. Maya joins me, while Devon and Louisa play with some toys. Louri joins after cleaning up the kitchen. She places her hand on my stomach and rubs it gently. Thomas kicks a little here and there, making her smile. I place my hand on top of Louri’s and give her a kiss. “I love you,” I say to her. “I love you too,” she says.
