Touch starved Dream
Expresses his feelings through touch George

Tw/cw: Words of abuse / belittlement. Self belittling

Dreams old relationship had been really shit. The girl he was with before he got with his new boyfriend George, was extremely mentally and emotionally abusive. She would tell him that he didn't deserve to receive hugs or kisses or any physical affirmations unless he followed certain rules that she had.

He would follow all the rules as best as he could, basically following them perfectly. But she never gave him any kind of physical affection. She would tell him he did ok or good at jobs that she basically forced onto him but would never give him physical affection or contact.

This obviously caused Dream to become touch starved and not be used to or even remember the feeling of being touched.

So, when Dream and George got together obviously Dream wasn't expecting all of the touchy moments the two would have.

Hell. When George first held Dreams hand he had to stop himself from acting weird or pulling away. And when they first hugged Dream had to kind of wait for George to initiate it.

The two males haven't even kissed yet, but George was thinking of asking and Dream was just waiting and worrying.

I noticed recently, that Dream doesn't really.. like physical affection? Or something like that. I don't know. You see when we first like properly met he kind of paused when we hugged, so I had to initiate it. Which is fine. He might have just been nervous.

But then I held his hand, because we were watching a horror film and it scared him. But when I held his hand he tried to recoil it back to his lap.

I'm going to ask him about it because I'm getting worried that I'm making him uncomfortable or something.

So here I am, outside of his room. I balled my hand into a fist and knocked on the door gently.

* knock knock *

"Dream? Can I come in?"

"Yeah."

I smiled, grabbed the handle to turn it and opened the door. I saw Dream sitting on his bed, looking up at me (most likely waiting for me to speak).

"I've noticed- that you're not really.. I don't know how to say it but you seem really uncomfortable whenever I touch you. And I don't want to make you uncomfortable or anything so I just wanted to speak to you about it.."
