Chapter 49: Auditions

That day after vocal lessons I went to go see YG to ask him if me and #Gun could audition for SMTM as a pair. He said it was fine and he even gave permission for us to see eachother everyday this week so we could practice together. And as soon as I got out of YG's office I called #Gun and let him know the good news. That day we agreed to meet at my dorm. We were to see eachother at 6. I got done with vocal lessons at 4 so I decided to go grocery shopping. I wanted to cook another Mexican meal for #Gun so I went to this small market where they sell food from Latin America. That's where I have been buying most of my food from. I bought ancho peppers, panela cheese, eggs, flour, tomatoes, onions, and garlics. Weird ingredients right? Well this was all to make chiles rellenos. It's one of my favorite Mexican dishes. And despite the weird ingredients they are very tasty. I bought enough ingredients to make 4 chile rellenos.

By the time I got to the dorms it was already 5pm. I only had one hour before #Gun came so I started to cook immediately. Chile rellenos actually take a while to make. I had texted #Gun telling him not to eat because I will cook for us. And by the time I got done making the chiles rellenos it was already 6pm. #Gun got here a few minutes after I was done cooking. I showed #Gun the food and gave him a bite to taste. "This is good! What is it?" He asked. "It's chile rellenos. I made two for you and two for me." "This looks like it would be hard to make. Who taught you how to cook?" "It actually is hard to make and it takes a long time to make too. But it's totally worth it. And my mom is the one that taught me how to cook. She started teaching me when I was 15 cuz at 16 I would start helping out my parents at their restaurant." "Your mom must be a really good cook too then. I wish my mom could cook like this. Her food actually isn't that great. I rather eat out than eat my mom's food. That's how bad of a cook my mom is. Could you maybe teach my mom how to cook?" "Sure. We should actually have dinner together with your mom someday. So after I cook her some dinner if she likes my cooking then I can teach her." "That would be great. But let's actually wait till we are officially a couple. I would love to introduce you to my mom as my girlfriend." "Okay. We can wait till then."

After we got done eating we started practicing our rap. We actually wrote the raps ourselves. Then once we were ready we recorded our raps so we could hear how we sounded. The recordings helped us out a lot in being able to tell what we needed improvements in. But overall we sounded great together. Our voices matched really well. So with just a bit more practice and I think we can pass the auditions! It was a good thing we didn't need to dance for the auditions cuz we would totally fail that. Neither #Gun or I were good dancers. But I have to admit that my dancing has actually gotten better since I became a trainee. Practice really does help.

By the time we got done practicing it was already 9. Time flew by and I wanted to be with #Gun longer. I had to come up with something so he could stay longer. "#Gun do you want to go take a walk together?" "Won't we be seen though?" "We can just walk at the park that's here in the dorms. It's a gated community so if someone were to see us it would just be the residents. And all the residents here are just YG trainees and employees." "Okay then. I guess we could take a walk."

We went outside and walked for almost an hour. We hold hands the whole time and talked about our dreams and our future plans. It felt nice to have someone to talk to about these things. I even told #Gun stuff that I had never told anyone. And I just felt like I could tell anything to #Gun. I felt comfortable with him. At the end we sat on a bench and just looked up at the stars. This night was truly beautiful. The only thing that would make this night even more perfect was a kiss. #Gun and I still hadn't had our first kiss and a night like this would be perfect for that. I sighed just thinking about it. #Gun will probably not kiss me until Donghyuk and I break up. That's just the type of guy he is. But just for once I wish he could be like the other guys and just kiss me. I wanted to be his and for him to be mine. "Your so quiet right now. What are you thinking about?" #Gun asked. "You want the truth?" "Of course I want the truth." "Okay. Well I was thinking about how this would be the perfect night to have our first kiss." "I was also thinking about that." "Then why don't you kiss me?" "Because your still dating Donghyuk." "I knew you would say that. But me and Donghyuk aren't even in love. We're only dating because we were forced to. But Donghyuk knows I love you." "I wouldn't feel right though. So just wait a bit longer. I promise that I will make it worth the wait. I'll make that night of our first kiss even better than this one. I'll make it something truly special. Something you will never forget." "I love you." "I love you too." "How much do you love me?" "As much as the sky." "But the sky is infinite." "Exactly. My love for you is infinite." "Then I love you as much as the sky too."

That night #Gun ended up leaving at almost 11. And I went to sleep as soon as he left. We still had the rest of the week to practice. The SMTM auditions will be on Saturday. We met everyday at the same time and at my dorm. I also cooked for us everyday. And each day was a different Mexican dish. On Tuesday I made birria. On Wednesday I made huaraches. On Thursday I made posole. On Friday I made mole. And on Saturday morning before we left to the auditions I made burritos de machaca. #Gun loved all of the food. His favorite dish so far was birria but there is still so many more Mexican food I would like #Gun to get to know so I plan to continue cooking for him in the future.

The SMTM auditions started at 1pm but we had to be there at 11. We had to form a line to get in. There were so many people auditioning. While I waited in line #Gun went to sign us in and got our number. Then once inside the audition room we got to see the judges. There were a total of 9. The judges were Tablo, Jinusean, Zico, San E, Jay Park, Verbal Jint, Loco, and Paloalto. Seeing that many judges was making me nervous. There were all great artists thay I admire. And today #Gun and I had two goals. Our first goal was to pass the auditions. And our second goal was to get Tablo's attention and get him to be interested in us. But of course it would be great if we could impress all of the judges. Our turn came and we went up the stage. #Gun started the rap and I followed. We took turns rapping and we had a part in the middle where we both rap at the same time. That was actually my favorite part. The rap was a fast rap so we got done quickly. And then came the judging. Overall we got mostly good comments. And we passed. The whole time I had been watching Tablo and it looked like he was very impressed and liked our rap. We were told that the show will start filming in two weeks and that it will start airing in a month. So that would give us more time to practice and get even better. But once the show starts me and #Gun will become rivals. There could only be one winner.
