Trigger Warning: trauma and injuries
A month has passed and all I can say is nakakapagod mga ginagawa ko when it comes to balancing study and training but I am proud na naka survive ako for a month. Achievement na para sa akin 'yon since I am still adjusting with this whole set-up.
Also alot has happened with our pre season tournament. We have a standing of 3-0 which is quite impressive as we are bunch of new players as is in our rookie year, it is a feat to be honest. When it comes to Blake and their team as usual they are dominating every opponent they face and they did not drop single set. They are poised to advance to the semifinals. While us also is in semifinals because we have 3 wins in our belt.
Isang buwan na rin kami hindi nag-uusap ni Blake. Not that I care pero parang kabute minsan talaga isang iyon bigla-bigla na lang susulpot. Ngayon hindi naman siya nagpaparamdam. Baka busy din with his volleyball career and his life. Sikat e.
So the mechanics in our semifinal will be a single round robin within the four teams left meaning we have to face the three remaining team--- Trenton University, Preston University, and College of Saint Bernard. Yes sadly nalaglag team nila Roy because they have lost to Preston. Our first assignment in the round robin is the Preston University the former school of Yuki. Speaking of which hindi pa niya nakwekwento yung dahilan kung bakit hindi siya tumuloy sa Preston, eh isa iyon sa magandang volleyball program sa bansa.
Don't get me wrong I don't want to force Yuki to tell the story, it is his own story so it is in his own time to tell me what happened. Curious lang talaga ako kasi Yuki is known as one of the top highschool volleyball player pero suddenly he vanished kaya nagtaka ako nakita ko siya sa tryout ng Westwood eh.
"So our first assignment on the semifinals is Preston University, last year's UAC first runner up. They forced Trenton to their limit so expect that they will be a tough opponent for us but I have a faith in you. Tandaan niyo bilog ang bola as long as we do what we practiced we can win. A win would be great but I am already happy na ginawa niyo kung ano man ang trinaning natin. Are we clear team?" motivate ni coach sa amin.
"Yes coach" lahat ay pumped with what coach said. We have nothing to loose and more to gain sabi nga nila.
Then nagpahinga na kami saglit dahil kakatapos lang namin magwarm up and susunod na ang drills. Lumapit ako kay Yuki na nakakapagtaka na tahimik lang at nakatingin sa kawalan.
"Uy kanina ka pa tahimik ah" binigyan ko ng tubig si Yuki at inabot naman niya. Hindi ako sanay na hindi madaldal ito kasi isa siya sa makulit sa team, palagi nakikipagbiruan sa mga kateammates namin.
Hindi siya nagsalita kaya umupo ako sa tabi niya.
Bigla siya nagsalita. "Did you remember our promise with each other?"
Uminom muna ako ng tubig bago tumango. "Yeah yung kukuwento mo ano nangyari sayo and sa Preston?"
"Do you really want to know Hans?" may hint ng lungkot yung pagkakasabi niya. "I just want to get it away bago yung laban so I can move on from what happened"
"Hey I don't want to force you dahil lang may promise ka sa akin. You should tell me the story pag handa ka na, no need to rush" nilagay ko ang kamay ko sa likod niya for assurance.
"Inom tayo" out of nowhere niya sabi.
"Huh?" lumingon ako sa kanya.
"I want to drink para I can tell you the story"
"O-okay mamaya" tinawag naman kami ni coach after that. Mukhang gumaan naman aura ni Yuki after that kasi nakipagbiruan na siya. Mukhang kailangan nga namin uminom.
