*Alora POV*
The sounds from above the ministry caught our attention as the sound of the elevators were coming down. I stood quickly to my feet, listening to the sound and praying they weren't making their way down to us.
"Sebastian-"
"You need to get out of here Alora. If they catch you, you could easily be put behind these bars."
My heart felt like it was going to break, wishing these damn bars would just bust open so I could very easily just sneak him out of here.
"I know. I know. I just don't want to go....I don't want to say goodbye....." I said quietly. My forehead leaning against them as he got up, grabbing my hands and bringing them to his lips. His soft lips kissing each and every one of them.
"I know love.....but you have to. Please............. for me."
I closed my eyes, relishing in his touch. Finding the courage to leave him.
I bit my lip, trying to hold my emotions together while standing in front of him. Trying to remain strong for both our sakes.
"I could just stay here you know. We could be miserable together while we go to Azkaban....." I joked softly.
Sebastian chuckled, grabbing my head softly, bending it down so he could kiss my forehead. His soft lips making contact with my skin. The butterflies erupting in my stomach that sent shivers down my spine.
"Now what kind of man would I be if I truly let that become reality, huh?"
He pulled away. His eyes fixated on me as his thumbs gently rubbed my cheeks.
"One that wants to be with me just as I do to him...."
He sighed, "Alora.... please....... don't make this harder than it needs to be...."
I shifted on my feet, my heart aching terribly as I thought of all the possibilities of losing him forever. Never being able to see him again.
The sound of the elevators broke me out of my gaze as I listened to them getting closer. If I didn't leave now, they would surely catch me.
"Alora, you need to go now. Before its too late! Please, go!"
"I'm going to keep my promise, Sebastian. I swear on every magic spilled I will get you out of here."
Sebastian started to turn me around, trying to get me to take steps away from him so I would finally leave this place.
"I know you will...... Alora my trial will be in three days. I'll be waiting there for you. Now go! Hurry!" He said rushed.
The echo of the elevators got closer, hearing it ring in my ears.
I took a few steps forward towards the exit, turning back towards him as he nodded to me. Telling me to go ahead. Telling me to leave him and that it was okay.
But it wasn't okay. It wouldn't be till I figured this out. I wouldn't rest till I released him from this place or Azkaban.
I cried, rushing back towards him.
"Alora! What are you-"
I reached my arms towards his face, grabbing him as my lips connected with his one last time. Crushing his lips with mine, pulling him as close to me as possible. Trying to relish and memorize the way he tasted, the way he smelled, the way he felt as his hands came up to my face.
Our breathless kiss finally broke away, not turning back as I ran for the exit. Trying to catch the elevator before another one came down.
I closed the doors behind me, feeling the tears drip down my face. Biting my lips to just relish in his taste one last time.
I pulled out the time turner, looking at the gold trinket shining underneath the light. Gripping it intensely as I grabbed ahold of the bars up top for when the elevator would shoot back up to the lobby. Within seconds, it jerked me in an upwards motion.
I sighed in relief when the lobby's main entrance came into view. I wiped my eyes with my sleeve to keep away from prying eyes. Moving towards the exit as the last remaining few people were just leaving. Security ushering out the last of the crowd as I blended in, keeping my head down as I made my way out. Rushing to the last remaining fireplace that was available.
My mind thought of Feldcroft, the outside of the Sallow's homes. I held my breath, closing my eyes as this was the worst part about appariting. The feeling of my body starting to twist and turn in an unclean fashion made me sick to my stomach.
I felt my body land with a thud on the grass, looking up to see the night sky. The millions of stars shining brightly as they were laid out perfectly across the night sky. The quietness of the wind blowing softly across the grass, the crickets in the distance chirping to each other, seeing some fireflies in the distance dancing underneath the nearby trees.
It was truly breathtaking, wishing in some way I could just reach up and grab them and create my own personal shooting star that lit up the night sky. I would wish and pray in some way that everything could just go back to way it was.
No more thought of Ominis truly betraying his best friend. No more thought of Sebastian rotting in Azkaban and me being alone for the remainder of my days.
Sebastian was right, I could move on. I could just learn to teach myself to let him go but I knew I couldn't. Deep in my heart, he had a hold on me that was stronger than any spell or magic combined.
I looked behind me as I heard the front door open to the Sallow home, seeing Anne's worried face as Garreth stood behind her.
"Alora!" Anne called for me.
I stood up, trying to get my barring's as the uneasiness in my stomach was still relevant.
"Merlin!! We have been worried sick!" She yelled, rushing to me.
Garreth was not too far behind her, looking at me for any indication that I was successful.
Anne engulfed me in a warm hug, squeezing me to almost literal death.
"Anne.........I...... can't-"
"Sorry! Sorry!" she said, pulling back from me and looking me over.
"Are you alright?" Garreth asked.
I huffed out a breath, feeling relieved that I was back home at least.
Something in the distance caught my eye. I looked back up to the sky as a shooting star flew across the night sky. My heart swelled, hoping that maybe this was some sort of a good sign. Or maybe a good omen.
"I am... for now."
