*Alora POV*

Reaching for the door handle, back outside the cabin....the soft whispers and cries of somebody inside made me stop. I didn't want to ease drop, but it was no wonder as to who was inside as the female weeped.

Anne.

"Your-.... you're marrying her?" She whispered. Barely enough for me to hear on the other side of the door. "But-.... What about us..... what about, me?"

Pinching my eyes shut, hearing Ominis sigh as the dip of the bed creaked from inside.

"Anne-..... please... you know why-"

"So thats it then huh? Everything we've been through together..... is just over?" She sniffled.

My heart dropped, patiently waiting for Ominis to answer.

Breathing deep, "Anne-"

"Do you love her?" She asked forcefully.

I could imagine Anne's broken eyes, while Ominis blinding red rapid light at the tip of his wand flashed of the beat of his heart.

Silence.

Dead silence.

Fuck...

I heard her stand, moving away from him inside.

"Well-.... I guess I know my answer then-"

"Anne... Anne come on, I-... I'm sorry-!"

Suddenly the door flew open, revealing Anne in her devasted state. Red eyes, tears flying down her face, her cheeks completely flushed. But she wasn't sick, she was perfect again.

"Anne! Wait!" Ominis yelled from inside.

Huffing a breath, her eyes looking me up and down in distaste. Probably asking herself what I had that she didn't. "Thank you for saving me." She said quickly.

Ominis appeared behind her, his white orbs meeting with mine for a second.

"But I think its time for all of us to move on."

I only had the courage to nod to her. She was right. I had two days before Marvolo would come looking for them again.

She stepped past me till we were at  shoulder level stopping, feeling her eyes on the side of my face.

I turned to look at her, her dark eyes sucking me in.

"You know...I understand what you're doing. I do-... but not too long ago, the girl I knew was deeply in love with my brother. The girl I'm looking at now-...... I barely recognize her..."

She left me standing, slamming the door behind her. Watching her leave with my eyes on her back. The sick and death feeling in my stomach dropping to the cobblestone.

Ominis opened the door back up, coming to stand next to me. His eyes following her as she walked down the dark forest pathway back to the nearest town.

I sighed, "We have to go."

"Alora-?"

I turned to him, grasping his hand in mine and giving it a squeeze.

"I hate to rush this Ominis but-"

Ominis jaw immediately tightened before releasing me. Already understanding from the look in his eyes, "Marvolo was here... wasn't he..."

"I have two days-"

"Merlin Alora...what the hell-!!!" He groaned frustrated, his hands going into his yellow beamed hair, grasping the strands tightly, some pulling away from its place.
