***Flashback - Few Months Earlier***
Alora POV
I never wanted this.
I never wanted to become this. A hunter, a..... detective of tracking down and finding dark wizards who opposed the Ministry. I thought when school was over in our 6th year, I'd move into something more practical and less destructive. I had found my peace in Sebastian, no longer needing violence. No more needing to use spells to hurt others who opposed me or who were a threat to my family. At that time, there was no longer a threat. No repository, no more dark wizards, no more of those who wanted me for my magic.
It was just going to be me...... and him.
A large house that looked over the cliffside, high enough into the mountains, overlooking the sea. Sitting on our porch drinking tea, watching the sun go down.
Maybe in another life I saw kids playing in the garden, visiting Aunty Anne while Ominis and her spoiled them.
But this............ was just a dream.
A dream that would lay wake in my mind, hoping, praying, wishing, that it would become true.
But that's the thing about dreams. Eventually..... we all have to wake up.
My wand laid out in front of me, twisting through the thick grass. Laying low.
There was a camp up ahead, one with little people around. They thought they had a clever spot, hiding in the cliffside over the west side of the mountains.
Little did they know, I had been tracking them for months.
And if I was right......... she was here.
They had been an opposing threat to the Ministry, and when I was pulled from Hogwarts right after graduation, my mission of becoming an auror, was all sudden a reality.
The Ministry knew this would be such an interest to me that training happened almost immediately. They knew...... and were smart in their decision. Knowing I would stop at almost nothing... to bring her to justice the moment her face was released on the pensieve.
She became my next target. She........ was the leader of the next age of dark wizards.
One that I was ready to put in the fucking ground. Once and for all.
She struted through the camp, heading out into the clearing next to the cliffs, meeting with her next in command.
I disguised myself as one of them, conjuring the same robe as they all wore, shielding my eyes as I walked through the camp. Keeping my head down, leaning up against a nearby tree, trying to get an earful.
"Where the hell is our scouts, they should have been back by now." She demanded, throwing her hood back. Grabbing the younger man by his shirt, his eyes growing wide in panic.
"I-I-I don't know! They should have been back by now!!"
She released him, throwing him to the ground in frustration.
Too bad you won't find them, currently swimming at the bottom of the ocean......
"I don't have time for this! Get me a fucking broom, I need to look for them. For all I know she could already be on our trail."
The man rushed without hesitation, running inside her tent, grabbing her broom swiftly and bringing it back to her. Tripping on a stone or two, clearly petrified of her.
She grabbed the broom aggressively out of his hands, rolling her eyes at him before taking flight.
Bad move on your part........ Imelda.
