*Alora POV*

I remember.

I remember how you sat by my bedside. I remember how you whispered your goodbyes to me as you cried.

I remembered how you told me you loved me, how upset you were that if you didn't get the chance to see me one last time, you'd regret it for the rest of your life.

But here I am, sitting in the same bed, the same room, the same sun coming through the windows and your......... not here

I'm alone.

And it's my fault.

And even though I know it's my fault, I wish-........ I wish it wasn't true.

"Alora?"

My eyes gazed down to the left side, not even noticing Ominis was holding my hand on the bedside. Rubbing it softly with his thumb. Back and forth, back and forth. But I couldn't feel it.

Why couldn't I feel it.

"Why-why.... why-"

Tears brimmed his white orbs, looking me over as he sat up, bringing his chair closer to me, closer to my face.

"You-...... your body.... has severe burns, Alora. Please... stay as still as you can. I'm-"

I looked down, noticing my body was in complete bandages from head to toe. My fingers looked like crispy beef sticks.

A dark brown color, burnt. Extreme flakey skin.

"Oh merlin-OH!"

I closed my eyes, remembering. The ancient magic, it-........... it exploded. It exploded from me.

I couldn't breathe, I couldn't see, it was just a bright white and red light erupting inside and then-.............. it all went dark.

It was where I belonged.

Where I wanted to stay.

But here I am. Even more damaged then where I was before.

"Shhhhh..... just-.... take deep breaths, try not to move. Your body will heal soon. I promise." Ominis said, softly stroking my hair.

"I'm going to die." I whispered.

Ominis white orbs flickered rapidly in mine, biting on the inside of his cheek as the tears wanted to escape him.

"No..... no, you won't. You won't."

"Yes. I will-I will, this damn curse will kill me-"

"No, Alora they are going to do everything they can to speed up the process! You're going to be okay!"

I swallowed, trying to keep the lump down from wanting to cry. I was surprised my eyes weren't swollen. But everything around me felt heavy, like an elephant was sitting on my chest.

"You're going to pull through, I know you will. I know you will!"

I turned to face him more, trying to squeeze on anything. Trying to flinch my fingers, to just FEEL ANYTHING.

Ominis looked down at my fingers, seeing I was trying to wiggle them around. He grabbed them softly, giving them a squeeze.

"Can you feel that?"

I nodded, feeling the slight sensation.

He smiled, happy tears falling from his face.

"See! Your fine, you're going to be fine!"
