*Alora POV*

"What are you saying." He said, releasing his grip on my arms, shaking him off of me as I took a step away from him.

Trying to create some distance.

I pinched my eyes shut, moving in direction of the door.

You shouldn't have found out this way.....

"Let's talk outside." I said, looking back towards Anne sleeping state. "Let her sleep."

I wasted no time, walking back through the wooden door as the dense fog of the forest crept up on me. Sending chills down my spine as the distance noises echoed through. The birds, the predators, changing with an eerie chilling silence.

The creek of the door closing behind sounded of Sebastian and Ominis not falling far behind.

I sighed, stopping in the middle of the cobblestone pathway, "I wanted to tell you but at the time-.... it didn't make any sense to." I said softly. "But it doesn't matter now, all that matters is Anne. I can-"

"Stop it, I want to know what the hell is going on, stop KEEPING things from me, Alora!"

His voice traveled, echoing through the dark forest.

I couldn't hide anymore. I had to face the reality. My new reality.

I breathed, looking off into the density of the dark forest, seeing all the leaves, dark trees, the never-ending sight as far as you could see. Miles and miles, tree after tree. Shadow after shadow.

I wanted so badly to just keep walking straight, get lost in the dark green. Shutting my eyes while lying in the mushy moss, letting the sound of quiet embrace me.

But nothing is simple, nothing is quiet. It's always been too complex and never once straightforward. Just like this conversation. It had the will to break me.

I turned, seeing both their eyes on me. Waiting.

"The truth..... is this-...." I opened my mouth, but immediately closed it. Trying to find my words. But a chuckle came out instead. Sebastian harsh glare with his fist at his side never letting up. "I remember the way you looked at me when we both found the truth about Isadora, about the ancient magic and what it could do......"

His shoulders seemed to slightly relax at my comment.

"You looked to me to solve all your problems, you-...... looked to me to save her......... You looked up to me-... to save you, Sebastian. And that's exactly what I did-"

"So what, that was nine years ago-" he said frustrated.

"No..... it's our past, present and future Sebastian."

He groaned, shaking his head, his hand going through his hair, seeing his eyes trying to figure out what I was trying to say.

"So what..... why don't you just spit it out already!"

Fine.

Our eyes matched, seeming like an eternity before I finally pulled away. Our breaths in waves, so close but so far away. Sound, time, space, seeming to stop underneath our rule.
