*Alora POV*

How was I still this weak..... That even the mere sight of him made me crumble. His dark eyes, the brown hair, the freckles that covered his face.......

Did he really have that much of a hold on me still.....Even after all these years...... all this time apart, that even the sight of him, even if it wasn't truly him..... that I could barely move. That I was paralyzed. Legs not moving, body shaking, my breath being pulled from me like it was my last.

His fake death playing over and over in my mind. Watching the blade pierce through his skin, his head.......... gone. His hands....... gone.

Blood everywhere.

But........ it wasn't him. It wasn't him......

The water started to go cold. I didn't know how long I had sat for on the tile floor. My bones starting to ache, my fingers crimpling from the water soaking me like a sponge.

Ominis never moved. He never flinched. He just sat with me, watching me. Waiting for me to come out of this coma.

The blood had stopped, the river running dry.... but the stains would never go way. Just like the memories....... they would never truly wash away.

".....Alora, the water....... it's getting cold." He said softly.

I could feel the immediate temperature change. And I knew eventually I'd have to face Ominis and the horrors..... I just didn't want to.

I only had the energy to nod to him as I looked up through my drenched hair that cascaded down my face, hiding my swollen eyes that I could barely feel from the sobbing I had done.

He reached his hand out to me again, but only leaving it for me to decide to take it or not.

He breathed a sharp breath, "... please......"

I wanted to shy away, too embarrassed of the act I put on for him already, but I felt my body start to shiver underneath the cold water spraying down my back.

"....Please........ trust me......trust me because I know-...... I know I can."

His humbled words shook me, looking up through my lashes as his tired eyes prayed for me to give in..... to release the hold on myself.

I breathed heavily.

I reached for his arm, finally letting him grasp me as I released myself from the hold.

"...There you go, I've got you." He said standing, letting me take my time as I tried moving my wobbly legs. Getting the blood flow back.

I didn't realize but water was running down his arms, I was too....... soaking him, bringing him down with me in the cold.

"Hey......" He said softly, "Look at me, it's just water."

But it wasn't Ominis........... it was blood, staining your white shirt and I was-......... ruining it....

His voice brought me back, refocusing as I felt my feet lose balance on the tile floor.

He stepped back slowly, finally pulling me out of the waters path.

"....Can you stand for a minute?"

I only nodded, still looking down at my feet.

He left swiftly for a moment, running to the other side of the room and within seconds a fluffy green towel wrapped around shoulders. His hands rubbing up and down, trying to get the access water off my clothes. Shivers starting to run through me quickly, my teeth starting to chatter.
