*Alora POV*

When our foreheads touched, I knew I was in trouble. Our breaths uneven, the chill running down my spine. This foreign feeling as his hand that held me reached for my face, pulling some hair behind my ear.

Feelings his fingers slightly graze my cheeks. His body leaning in further, his breath in my face, feeling the warmth of him. His musky scent invading my senses, even nine years had gone by and he still smelled the same.

We were getting lost, in this overwhelming feeling of safety, familiarity, home

This feeling of something that had been stored away for such a long time that we both forgot to come up for air.

I grasped the joggers into my fist, trying to get ahold of this feeling, this pit of old memories resurfacing in my mind.

The physical touches, the thoughts, the feeling of euphoria. Something I haven't had in such a long time........... sometimes even-..... my own fingers couldn't satisfy at times of desperation when I needed a release.

He at one point or another-......... brought me that. Gave me that so willingly, loving me through it. And.......... I had forgotten. Until now.

I wanted-......I wanted to surrender. Surrender to this. Whatever this was.

I pinched my eyes shut, hearing him reach into my hair, feeling his soft hands comb through my long locks. His hum of approval.

"Ominis........" I whispered.

He leaned in further, our lips so close. Our noses nearly touching. His thumb caressing my cheek in slow motions.

"Please...... don't be afraid....."He whispered in desperation.

I grabbed his shaking hand in mine that held my face, pulling back slightly so our eyes were level. Letting it fall back to my lap.

"We-........we can't."

"But you-.....you want to." He breathed.

"It doesn't matter..... I can't-... I can't hurt you again...." My voice broke, feelings the lodge in my throat. The raspiness of my voice settling in.

He swallowed, "You won't........ I know it..... There's-... there's nothing standing in the way now..."

But there was. And there always will be something standing in the way. And it wasn't Ominis. It wasn't Anne. It wasn't the ministry or how long our lives were apart.

It wasn't even me.

It was........ him.

SLAM!

We pulled apart suddenly, the strikes in our hearts beating frantically from the loud sound that came from the front door.

Ominis stood quickly, his cheeks still a rosy pink from the intrusion of almost being caught. By the one person I'm sure he didn't want to see.

Anne.

She gritted her teeth, biting down so hard I thought she would break her teeth.

She pointed at me, "You......... Get. Out. NOW!"

I stood slowly, coming around the side of the couch with my hands in surrender. Her wand at her side as she gripped it tightly.

"Anne. Please-"

"NO! I've seen enough! You come back here, with no explanation, no reasoning, thinking you can just walk back into our lives like NOTHING HAPPENED!"

"I know-"
