"Callista." James says next to me in class while I'm working on my English paper. He just took off my earphone since I was using it to block out the noise.
"Hm?" I answer without taking my eyes off the screen as I continue to type and keep my focus on the work.
"Pay attention to me." That's when I flinched. I felt his breath right at my ear. My hand immediately raises to cover my ear as I look at him with widened eyes. "I'm bored." He informs me with a sweet smile as if he didn't do anything wrong.
"Not my problem," I remind him, switching my tab to put a pause to my music.
"Yet, you're about to give it to me," James chuckles, his fingers trail my cheek to my ears. Placing my hair behind my ear.
"Okay, buddy," I manage to not stutter at the sudden touch.
I understand that it all has to be fake but James is really pushing it. What he's doing now is out of the norm. Yet, I couldn't help but wonder, has his fingers alway been that soft? He plays hockey, shouldn't his hands be hard, crusty, or even cold? Denny's' hands are. No, that's not true, sometimes they're surprisingly soft. But James' hands... I look at them, they're... I don't know, large? Is that right to say? To even think?
Compared to mine, they're bigger and, I guess, fatter? But have they alway been like that? What if James started wearing rings? How would they feel in-- No!
"You're staring," James says as I quickly look at his eyes instead of his hands. "What are with women and hands?" he asks with a grin as he leans back on his chair and places his arm on the back of my chair. We're not dating! Not yet! What is he doing? "Oh, and," he leans in, eyes on me and then away as he keeps his smile. I feel his soft breathing on my ear, "Elio can't keep his eyes off us. Keep being my shy little girl, alright, mi diosa divina?" James then blew into my ear which had me pull away and look at him with widened eyes.
His head pulls back as he lets out a laugh and then leans forward, removing his arm from my chair. "Dios mío, eres tan jodidamente linda." James says, placing his arms on the table and lay his head on it while he continues to look at me.
"Linda? That means pretty, right? Did you call me pretty?" I ask, only understanding that word. I know Dios means God, so I'm assuming he mentioned God but what for? Why put God and pretty in some sentences? Was it in the same sentence? "And seriously, what does that mean?" I ask him once again. I look at my laptop and quickly add a tab.
Google Translate = My best friend.
"Alright, can you please repeat the nickname you call me and what you just said but very slowly?" I ask as I get ready to type it down. I wrote "Mi" which translated to "my".
"Where's the fun in that?" James asks, his accent showing which causes me to roll my eyes and give him an annoyed look.
"You're so annoying." I complain, switching my tabs once again and go back to writing my paper which I'm almost done with. In the corner of my eye, I see James leaning back on his chair and opening his laptop. I'm hoping he's going to work on his English paper, but he's most likely going to do it last minute.
"Mi diosa divina. Dios mío, eres tan jodidamente linda." James decides to say which causes me to look at him. "What?" That sounded hot. Why did that sound hot? He really needs to stop hiding his accent.
Even his smile makes him so attractive.
He used to be cute but now he's just hot. It makes me hesitate in rearranging his face because, honestly, that would be a crime.
"I fucking hate you," I whisper which just earned me an air kiss from him. "Mr. Henry!" I yelled as I raised my hand which had the teacher look away from Emma's screen to me. "James is on instagram, looking at women in bikinis!" I say out loud which had James' friends next to him look over at his screen and then hands to see if he's on his phone. The rest of the class laughs and asks James to send them some photos for tonight.
