"He practically proposed." Hailey concluded, holding my hand and looking at the ring that's not even on the ring finger but index.

"He did not. Plus, we've only been dating for like five to six months." I reminded her, trying to calculate how long James and I have been together but realized that the beginning was fake. We became official in November.

"Yet you two knew each other the moment he was born." Hailey added on.

Before I had the chance to point out the fact that he wasn't into me as kids and only started to develop feelings for me this year or towards the end of last year. Or the fact that the beginning of our relationship was fake until things were made official in November.

But Tyler ran past us like his life depended on it. Tyler was fast and I like to say it's because he has longer legs but then Koshi rans past us, following Tyler. Hailey and I looked at each other and then back at them.

"Not even a hello." Hailey looked annoyed now. "I swear, he always--" Then another student ran and another. "What's going on?" Hailey asked.

"I don't know." I said, looking back at how there's now students making their way into a classroom, some even standing outside the door to look.

I noticed how most of James' friends were moving people away to get in, but James was nowhere around.

"I have a bad feeling." I said and made my way over. Hailey followed, but once we arrived, we also pushed --Hailey pushed-- the students aside so we could get through and see what's going on.

My heart dropped because James was being held back by Tyler and Koshi. I've never seen him so furious before. He kept trying to pull away, but Tyler and Koshi along with a few others were telling him to calm down and that the guy was not worth it. Tables and desk were on the ground, not all but some were along with papers and pencils.

I looked away to see another student on the ground with a bloody nose. A female student was helping the student get cleaned up but he looked a mess. His hair just everywhere, as if he didn't bother to brush it this morning. He's breathing hard and--

"Enough!" Emma yells, getting in between. "You were way out of line, Liam." She told the student that's on the ground. He's not in my grade nor a grade under mine, but Hailey seemed to recognize him because she told me that he's in her class and has been starting to act out a few times now which many found weird because he was never like that.

"James, calm down!" Emma added, dealing with the situation, but like every other student, I'm confused to what just happened.

"Hey, what happened?" Hailey asked a girl next to her.

"There was a fight." She told her.

"Yeah, no shit." Hailey answered. "Come on, the details." She elaborated.

"Okay, so apparently James was with Emma. Then this guy," she waves her hand towards Liam, "comes out of nowhere and starts insulted them, mainly Emma. So James being that guy, defends her. He didn't like what he said about her so he punched the guy." She explained to which another girl turned and asked her if that's what really happened to which she said it did.

"Yeah, but you know what the worst part is?" The girl continued her gossip. "James has a girlfriend. I mean, we all know that, obviously, but apparently he still has feelings for Emma. They had a thing, but couldn't be together."

I froze in place because that's not true. I mean, yeah, they had a thing together, but it's not that they couldn't be together. Emma kissed his best friend and his best friend kissed her. They hurt him. He chose to not be with her.
