"If you're like this just because I have a boyfriend, how will you be like the day I get married?" I asked my brother through face time.

"Threatening your future husband and crying my eyes out that my baby sister is getting married." Denny replies without missing a beat.

"Instead of being so caught up in my relationship, how about you focus on trying to get one of your own?" I suggest. "Mom is starting to lose hope for you."

"Mom has four other sons, I'm fine. Bother Chilly with this instead of me." Denny leans back on his seat, crossing his arms. "He's the oldest."

"Says the one who's only two years younger than him." I complain.

Denny chuckles but his smile soon turns into something more soft. He has a lot on his mind. Something happened to him, I just know it but he won't say what it is. He's hypocritical like that. He believes he has every right to worry about me and be up in my business but if I do the same, all of a sudden, it's fine to lie.

"Listen, point it, no sex--"

"Adonis Eun-woo Kwon. By the Gods, so help me, James is a good guy. You know him." I groan. "James has been treating me like royalty. I never had to pay for anything. He always takes me out. He makes me smile and happy. Can you please just be happy for me?" I beg him.

Denny sighs in defeat. "Okay, yeah. I know. He's a good guy. I know that and I'm glad it's him you're dating. But... You're my baby sister. I would have like it if he asked me permission to date you and all that but as long as he's being respectful and taking care of you, and more importantly, making you smile, I'm happy."

My brother's confession makes me smile but also caused me to feel a hint of guilt. I don't want my brother to get attached. Maybe in a few months when James and I break up, he might feel some relief, but then again, who I'm dating isn't some random guy. It's James.

"Also, once again, may I remind you how you're a bitch." Denny throws at me. I couldn't help but laugh. "No seriously. You almost made me rip my hair out with the second gift you got me."

"I love you." I tease.

The two gifts I've gotten him were something he loves. The first was a painting was of him in his glory days which are still going forward. Mom took the picture when he played and I got the photo from her, deciding to put it into painting for him. He has seen the photo Mom took, but the painting just made it so much more cooler (his words, not mine). He even showed me where he hanged it in his room.

The second gift however is something that is more traditional. Every gifts given to Denny has to be wrapped impossibly. It first started as a joke until he challenged Dad to make it difficult for him. Dad accepted the challenged and I remember one Christmas where Denny needed a hammer and other tools to open his gift while Dad drank his tea with a damn grin. It never gets easier for him.

I created something with Dad's help but Dennis managed to get it open and got to the hockey Jersey he has been wanting for a very long time.

Denny and I chat a little more until his bedroom door opens and Rhys steps in.

Rhys Morris is Denny's best friend since they were fourteen. He's a white guy with gorgeous blond hair and deep blue eyes. He's literally the perfect human Ken doll. Incredibly handsome with a killer smile and biceps which I do admit have caught myself staring a few times when I was younger.

Rhys has always treated me like a little sister and he's family. He's one of my brother friends who I felt comfortable around and trust. Denny also trust him wholeheartedly  which works out great for them when they're playing on the ice. He also has a little sister who happens to be three years older than me and also Eros's friend.
