James
Once upon a time, there was a kid who didn't know how to express his feelings. He ended up hurting the girl's feeling because he was afraid someone else was going to win her heart. That kid's mother lectured him and asked him why he did it.
He confessed and was told that hurting or lying does not win a person's heart.
What does is loving and respecting them. Being there for them and making them smile. Doing whatever is possible to make their day better. To want to protect them from every nightmare and pain.
To be their best friend. Their bodyguard. Their lover. Their everything.
I wondered how my feelings turn into this.
...Once upon a time, a boy met a girl. In his eyes, she was the most beautiful girl he has ever known. Her laugh became the only music he has ever wanted to hear. Her smile was the only thing he ever wanted to see. Her hands were the only thing he wanted to touch. Everything about her was a dream come true.
That little boy didn't want to play with the other boys but play whatever she wanted because that way he would always be with her. He didn't understand his feelings for her other than he wants her the same way his father has his mother. He wanted to kiss her whenever she smiled or laughed. He wanted to hold her hand. He wanted to listen to her talk about the flowers or the cloud in the sky.
He wanted her.
He didn't understand how to express himself the right way. He was scared when other boys paid attention to her. He knew she is beautiful. He knew her hair is stunning and soft. He knew he has a type of feeling towards her he couldn't explain. But he also knew he needed to get the attention away from her so he found another girl who's hair shine brighter than the sun. Who's eyes are a beautiful ocean in the sun and a grey sea under the clouds. Who's freckles could draw stars ways the night sky could ever.
The girl was physically the opposite of the girl he cherished. He paid attention to the other girl but no matter what he said about her or looked at her or when he spoke to her, his heart didn't beat the same way it did for the one he wanted.
His heart. The boy knew that the girl owned it. She was everything to him. He knew that. She made him feel as if he could move mountains for her. He felt like he could command the sky and hand her the stars if she just asked. He felt like a superman whenever she was around and to him, she was his heart.
He loved her short hair or how she tied up. Her open neck always made him want to reach over and touch her naked skin. He would play with her light waves. Wrapping it around her finger when she's not paying attention. He watched her. He always watched her.
He lied but convinced himself it was the best to have the girl all to himself.
One time, he had a thought about locking her up.
He thought he went mad.
When he got older, he understood more of his feelings for her. Her hair grew and she got more beautiful each day. She's different to what everyone would expect him to be with. He didn't care. He wanted her. He needed her. She's his reason for everything and the friendship they had was the only way he could get close to her.
He listens to her. He paid attention to every single detail. He has watched her sleep once on the couch, next to her second brother. They fell asleep while watching one of their shows. He felt like a creep just watching her but the way she breathes. The way she looked so at peace. He learned everything he could about her.
The way she dressed. How she styled her hair. How she did her make up. He learned how to braid and paint nails just so that he could have an excuse to touch her. He did everything and the feeling in his heart only grew more and more. He knew he could write a book of her. He knew how long it takes for her to fall asleep. He knew how long it take for her to read a page. He knew what makes her excited. He knew everything there is yet he was staved with the need to touch her.
