"Okay, so I was thinking," I slightly flinch at James's voice when he shows up next to me. His hand immediately finds mine and interlocks our fingers together. And like last time, he puts it in his pocket but this time it's his sweater as we were making our way to the gym.

It's another day. Remembrance Day. Everyone is gathering in the gym because every year the 11th graders would organized the whole event. We did it last year and it went well. Most students and all the teachers are dressed in black to pay their respects with their Poppy they received with the donations they have made.

James and I made our donations, as we do every time. Most do and every year there's a goal to reach on donations.

"As it's cold and winter will be coming." James adds as we walk the halls with other students. "We should go skating."

"Skating?" I question.

"Yeah. You're dating a hockey player. You gotta get on the rink with me." James gives a smile as it's not really a suggestion but a matter of when we're going to do it.

"With that logic, we should have a reading date where we sit down, do nothing but read and maybe have a few snacks." I suggest. He blinks a few times, thinking about it but not taking it into consideration but how to get out of it as staying in one place for too long with troublesome for him. James is the type of guy that likes to move around, that wants to do things while I can enjoy those things but for only an amount of time.

"Don't tell me you forgot how to skate." James tries to bring the subject back to what it was.

"And don't tell me you forgot how to read." I strike back.

"Touché, seńorita." James comment. "But in all seriousness, we should go and after that, maybe get you some warm hot-chocolate and then we can do some book reading cuddling." I give him a look which he notices. "And by book reading I mean, you reading and me either taking a nap or playing a game on my phone."

"There it is." I chuckle as we step inside the gym. We look around to find our class as there's a section for each grade. However, I stop at Emma who is chatting with Tyler. She's laughing and so is he. But when I look at her, she's beautiful. Her red hair is braided into a French braid, small black hoop earrings and a black dress which I think I have the exact same at home. She's wearing black runners but she looks stunning.

I look over at James to find him looking at her. I try to convince myself he's just zoned out or looking at Tyler but he's not. It's her he's looking at. It's her who he's admiring. It's her and it hurts.

But she look over and the way her smile shined softens. Just like her gaze when she notices him. They way they look at each other. In the same room filled with people yet how quick they were to find each other.

I don't get attention until I pulled my hand away from him.

"Callista?" He calls curiously while I put my hands in my hoodie pocket.

"Hm?" I pretend I don't know.

I pretend that I can't see it.

I pretend that I'm okay.

"I'm going to check in with Haley." I say and leave before he calls for me or grabs on to me.

I find Haley sitting on the benches with her class. She's chatting with a few of her friends. I shows up tap her legs so that she can move her feet from the seat in front of her. She notices me, smiles and happily makes space for me. I take a seat and lean back on her as there's no back rest on these bleachers. We start to chat with the other girls until I hear a familiar voice.

"Ladies." Tyler says as I watch him take a seat next to Haley. There wasn't much space but she moves to give him some and that cause me to have to move as well as she's my backrest. "Seńora Corleone." He grins at me.
