The snow starts to die down but James's hockey game are on a roll. So far, no losses. Yet, I've only been able to go to a few because of work. James said that I am not allowed to show up without wearing his jersey. In his words, it was the only way to let everyone know that I am his and that I am cheering for him.
I laughed and reminded him that I'm not the only one wearing his number but his family and mine are as well to cheer him on. He argued that it wasn't the same.
That being said, looking at how the games are going and how they end around April, James and Elio will soon face off each other. That's something I'm quite worried about to be honest. I wonder how the game would go. Today, my shift started earlier and ended ten minutes before the game started. Eros picked me up from work and drove me to the arena. We weren't there to see the start of the game but from the score, we didn't miss anything.
I won't say I'm not a hockey fan. My brother and boyfriend play the sport but I'm not as crazy of a fan of the sport as they are. I don't mind watching it though, I like reading about it but I don't know famous players or teams. What I don't like though is how it can go from playing to fighting.
I've seen Denny jump a guy for pushing their goalie. That's something I learned at a young age, never hurt the goalie. But that also the goalies are a completely different breed than the other guys.
I watch James make a pass before getting pushed to the wall by the other team. Mariana yells in Spanish while the twins are telling James to do something about it.
I keep quiet. I don't like to yell loudly like this in public nor am I fan of the loud noises around. I can deal with it for a few hours but it soon becomes draining. I was just at work, socializing, moving around and dealing with the loud chatter of all the tables around. My energy is drained but I try to make the effort that I'm supporting.
When another breaks shows, everyone pays attention to the screen as it would sometime show replays but this time it showed a Kiss Cam. This was something suggest from a commentator years back. Everyone was up for it as they would see it in the NHL. It's always been fun but sometimes, not so much.
I remember sitting between Eros and Chilly once. The camera went on Chilly and I. We screamed no multiple times while saying how we're related to each other but then it moved to Eros and I which we had to do the same thing. It soon became known that the man around me are my brothers. I never really had to worry about the game because I don't sit next to strangers since I'm mostly next to a family member or next to someone in James's family.
The camera changes from couple to couple which are mainly parents than anything. There's laughter and chanting on how they should kiss and everything but then suddenly, I see my brother.
Eros is on camera. He's wearing his usual black jacket to keep himself warm as it does get cold, but he has James's number under it. He looks like every girl's dream boyfriend yet at the same time, he has that look that tells you to not talk to him. And then there's Vale who's sitting next to him. She's giving off a brighter energy than him but when they both realize why everyone is looking at them as Vale was showing him something on her phone, they panic.
Well, Vale does. Eros looks unbothered. But to me, I can see the worry. If you paid close attention, you would have noticed that his eyes slightly widen but went back to normal in a blink.
Vale is shaking her head and arms. Yelling how they're just friends. Mom is laughing, so is Dad. Everyone is and chanting for them to kiss but they don't. The camera changes to someone else.
"You guys dodged a bullet!" I comment.
"Tell me about it!" Vale sounds relieved at the fact that she doesn't have to kiss her best friend. "Could you imagine? I would have nightmares!"
