James
"Amor." I said softly as I walked up behind my girlfriend. By placing my hand on her lower back, she turn her attention to me nervously. "Nervous?" I asked.
"A little." A light chuckle leaves her lips. "I mean, I never had to give out a speech before. What if I mess up?" She asked worriedly.
"You're going to be amazing." I promised her, leaning in and pecking the side of her forehead.
We're graduation. We're finally getting our diploma and leaving high school to head to a new future.
I've been scouted not only to play for teams in university, one being the same place where Dennis attended but also to join the NHL right away. I had the discussion with my parents. Either go to university, study and play hockey or play hockey right away. Mom and dad made it clear that it's my choice in what I rather do since they'll support me.
I soon found out that Elio got about the same offer as I did. We chatted about it and decided to join the league. We signed the contract to which we also found out we would be training for the same team; Montreal Canadiens.
Everyone supported our decision.
Callista has even been helping me with my French so that I could communicate since I'll be needing to move.
Dennis is already part of the Edmonton Oilers and if I can make it to the starting line up, I may be able to play against him at some point but there were rumours how Team Canada has their eyes on Dennis to recruit him to play internationally. The Canadian National Men's Hockey Team. The Stanley Cup or Gold medal for the country? Dennis has a tough choice to make but either way, I want to get on the ice and play a game against him.
"You nervous moving to Quebec?" Callista asked.
"Yeah but we'll make it work." I said as I back hug her. She's going to the University of Nevada which is in Las Vegas. Which is also in the States.
"It's a two day drive trip." She teased. I groan. She's been accepted to every universities she applied to, not to mention, she was even given scholarships. For fun, she applied for some international school with scholarships to which they have also accepted and wiling to give her.
I'm a little envious of that but out of all the school she could have picked, she went with the one in the states. Callista is going for her Bachelor of Science in Hotel Administration. Apparently my surprise for her at our school dance influenced her decision on being a planner as she wanted to create beautiful moment as such.
I support her decision but can't help and hate the distance between us since we're going to have now have a long distance relationship. Lucky me, there's only a 3 hour difference. Better than 6 hours if Callista decided to go to France. Once we receive our schedule, we're going to make our plans on when to call, face time and even how to meet up during the holidays.
I just had her. I got to feel everything and now I need to go back to not being able to hold her. I'm going to have to work extra hard to make the money I need to get a plane ticket and go see her when I can. Surprise her form time to time.
"How's your French?" Callista asked.
"Bonjour, je m'appelle James Corleone." I said what she taught me with a horrible accent. I don't even think I said it correctly.
"Not bad. But I'm sure there's a few English people there that will take pity on you and just speak English to you." I taser her side. She screams then lets out a laugh. I hold her tightly when she tried to escape my arms.
"Come, let's go join the others. I was suppose to come collect you." I informed her.
"Okay."
With our hand interlock, we made our way back to the others. Callista wanted to be alone to be able to recite her speech since she's been nervous about it. She decided to not follow Eros's footsteps and hand the valedictorian to someone else but accepted it proudly.
