(August's POV)

Nagising ako kinaumagahan, nasa kwarto ko na ako with a major hangover.

"Sh*t." I cussed massaging my forehead.

I wished everything was a dream. Me getting married to my best friend and the love of my life being engaged to a person I know nothing about. Tang*na! Ang sakit talaga sa ulo neto!

Bumaba ako at pumunta sa kusina namin sabay kuha ng kung ano mang malamig na juice o tubig na makakapag pawala ng sakit ng ulo ko.

"You know, you should drink coffee instead Gus." Ika ni Sophie na nakaupo pala sa dinning table. Diko napansin eh.

"Oh, andiyan ka pala. Do you want to see Shawn? Samahan kita." Tanong ko sa kanya

"Nah, it's okay. I think I'll stay here for a while." Nakangiti niyang saad. "So, why were you drunk last night? Lucky you , your lolo was asleep last night and your parents were working overtime so I was the one who saw you."

"Well, Engaged na si Raine. Tapos ayun, out of frustration, uminom ako. Sino pala yung naghatid sa akin kagabi?"

"Oh, Lexie drove you home. And I can see it in her face that she had a hard time controlling you."

Naisip ko pa lang yung mga possible kong ginawa sa kaniya kinikilabutan na ako. Juice Colored. Mukhang hindi muna ako magpapakita sa kanya ng matagal.

"So, you were the one who undressed me?" Tanong ko nang marealize ko yun.

"Hindi ah! I asked one of the security guards to undress you and put you into clean clothes."

"Haaay buti na lang!" I said sabay timpla ng kape tulad ng sabi ni Sophie. Tapos umupo ako sa tapat niya.

"So, engaged na si Raine. What are you planning to do?" Tanong ni Sophie

"The truth is, hindi ko din alam. Sabi niya, wag ko na daw saktan sarili ko. Kasi kung kami talaga, kami talaga. Pero in this case, I think our grandfathers are destiny themselves. My lolo holds my fate and her lolo holds her fate." Matamlay kong sabi

"Well, there's no one else who could take a hold of you fate except yourself. So, don't give up on her Gus. You waited this long so, why turn back, right?" Ika niya ng nakangiti.

"Tell me, why are you so calm?" Tanong ko

"I trust you; I know you could get us out of this mess."

"If we can't... well, don't make me a battered husband okay?" Patawa kong sabi

"I promise I won't" Natatawa niyang sabi "Oh which reminds me. I think I know the answer to your problems. Come" Tumayo siya at umakyat sa kwarto niya.

What?! Sasama ako sa kwarto niya? Hindi ba dangerous yun? Umaga pa! Pero what the heck sumama din lang ako. Umupo siya sa bed niya at pinat niya yung space sa tabi niya signaling me to sit beside her. She's your best friend; you are not going to bang her. Yan yung paulit ulit kong sinasabi sa kalooblooban ko. Ayaw kong gawan ng masama itong best friend ko. Nang umupo ako sa tabi niya, kinuha niya yung loptop niya at binuksan ito.

See... nothing to overthink about August. Manonood lang kayo ng movie.

Nang iopen niya ito, nilagay niya sa Google Chrome at sa isang news website.

"I found this last last night. So, you might want to brace yourself for this." Ika ni Sophie nang I click niya ang isang article.
