Breakfast and Kitkat

(August's POV)

Hindi muna ako tumambay sa Tsubasa ngayong umaga, pero ngayong umaga, pumunta ako sa condo ni Sophie. Time check: 6:30 am. Tulog pa siya ng ganitong oras. Pumasok ako sa loob ng unit niya at nag umpisang magluto. May spare key ako eh .

"You're up and early today Gus" Ika sa akin ni Sophie na kinukusot kusot pa ang mata.

"I want to make you some breakfast. That's all" Ika ko habang inihahain sa lamesa yung niluto kong bacon. "May fried rice, bacon, eggs and... pagtitimplahan kita ng kape"

"If you want to say something, you could just say it now Gus." Direchahan niyang sinabi pagkatapos niyang umupo sa dining table. Pero pinagtimplahan ko pa din siya ng kape. Nang maka upo na din ako sa tabi niya, doon na lang ako nagsalita.

"Umm, paano ko ba ito sasabihin... well, kagabi, pumunta ako sa bar malapit sa amin. Yung bartender doon, kapatid ng bartender doon sa pinagtratrabahuan ko."

"So what you're saying is that, the bartender is one of your chicks?" Tanong niya

"No, I like women my age... or maybe younger- but that's not my point. So, there I was thinking that I was drunk but I wasn't because the bartender served me juice instead. Then I told her my problem... my problem with love that is"

"So?"

"She told me, to start choosing. But I answered I can't because both people are important to me and I don't want to hurt neither one of them. Then she told me, I should just quit this act and take a break first." Huminga ako ng malalim at hinarap si Sophie "And that's what I'm here for. To take a break."

Tinignan niya ako at ngumiti. "Finally, a plan that's bound to work"

"Ha?" Hindi ko siya maintindihan eh.

"Look here. I love you okay? And the kind of love that I'm feeling is one part romantic and another part sisterly. And since my sisterly love is greater than that romantic part, I am actually happy that you finally chose a path where you could actually be happy without worrying too much about others."

"So okay lang sayo?" Binitawan niya yung kutsara't tinidor niya ng yakapin niya ako.

"I'm happy for you Gus. It's more than okay." Niyakap ko din siya pabalik

"You really are the best Soph"

Nang bumitaw siya sa yakap, napabitaw na din ako at pinanuod ko na lang siyang kumain ng breakfast na niluto ko.

"So, what are your plans now? You planning to become a playboy again?" Tanong niya

"Wag muna. I need to take a break from romance. I need to focus of college. Eh ikaw? Saan ang college mo?"

"I'm planning to take up medicine somewhere in Paris."

"Wag mong kalimutang umuwi ha?"

"Oo naman. I wouldn't miss out on my best friend becoming a successful doctor too"

"Hey, Soph"

"Yeah?"

"Thank you..."

"Hmm?"

"Thank you so much for coming home, you've been a great help to me. I actually enjoyed my vacation because of you."

"You too... thank you for being my company while I'm staying here. Thanks to you, I became good friends with your barkada. Please thank them for me okay?"

"I will" Pagkatapos ko kila Sophie, pumasok na ako sa Tsubasa para sa tanghali sessions ko.
