Lucy felt like a hypocrite. Sure, she hasn't criticized her friends outright, but she had her thoughts. She knew Mabel would find any excuse she could to run off with Jake. And as soon as she and her twin stepped foot into the Living District, they separated. Lucas claimed that they would get more information if they split up, but Lucy could see right through the lie. Her brother just wanted to go to the new noodle restaurant that had just opened. He had talked about it non-stop during their stay on Route 8. It was a wonder that he didn't mention it at all during the submarine ride, but if Lucy had to guess, it was so that he wouldn't be called out when he split off from the group to eat.

The only person left unaccounted for was Thane. In his case, he was a package deal. It was Thane, his partner Embit, and all his other Loomians, and Via. Lucy wasn't worried about him. She was sure that after getting the tickets, he would immediately start on the reason the group was in town in the first place: information. She hoped that Mabel and Jake would at least walk their visually impaired friend to the Battle Theatre before going who knows where.

That brought her to the present moment. She had mentally criticized her friends for going off task, but here she was, taking a stroll through the park and talking with her aunt. This wasn't part of the plan, but when Luna saw her niece, Lucy couldn't say no. So, that's why she was currently sitting on a bench in the park, talking with her Aunt Luna.

When Luna finished telling her niece about some recent cases, sick Loomians, and a few who had suffered losses in the Battle Theatre, it was Lucy's turn to talk. Luna shifted her weight, fully facing Lucy as she asked, "You didn't tell me you were in the city! Where's your brother? When did you get here? How long are you staying? Where are you staying? I thought you and Lucas were staying in Cheshma Town for school with your friend." Luna snapped her fingers. "That girl, Mabel."

After her aunt finished her rapid-fire volley of questions, Lucy answered. "Oh, Lucas is off at a restaurant, you know him." Luna nodded and cut her off with a laugh. Lucy continued. "And, we're not staying for too long, I think. We're probably going to stay in a hotel." Lucy clasped her hands together. "And, yes, Lucas and I were attending a school with our friend Mabel in Cheshma for a while, but it didn't pan out."

Luna looked worried. "Why? What happened?" "Don't worry about it." Lucy quickly replied. "We were wandering around for a while, not knowing where to go or what to do. We didn't want to go back, and, and I was going to call you." Lucy added quickly. "Why didn't you?" Luna asked. "Because, we're on a journey now." Luna blinked. "Is that not what you guys were already doing?" Luna asked confused. Lucy shook her head. "No, Aunt Luna. We were wandering around, that's not a journey. We actually know what we're doing and where we're going." Luna crossed her arms. "Alright, what's this journey for?" She asked. "A few weeks ago when we were in Sepharite, we met two trainers. Jake and Thane." Lucy began.

Aunt Luna listened as Lucy spoke. "We don't really know what Jake's deal is, but he's nice and he's a strong trainer. He has a Searknight. He was also kind of wandering around, lost, I mean before he joined us. Thane's also a strong trainer. He's trying to collect all eight medals and battle in the Roria League. We're all just kind of following him around."

By this point, the two of them had stood up and began to walk again. By the time Lucy had finished her explanation, the pair had stopped near a small pond. The only other people around were a pair of teenage boys. "And that's what I've been up to these past few months. We're in town so Thane can get the medal, but we're here for something else too." Lucy cleared her throat. "Speaking of which, have you noticed anything strange around town, Aunt Luna? Any strange cases at the hospital?" Luna's brow furrowed and a frown formed on her lips. "Strange how?"

Before Lucy could continue, a sudden weight landed on her left shoulder, startling her. She let out a yelp and stumbled forward, nearly tripping and falling to the ground. She didn't register that Aunt Luna was also caught off guard. Lucy's head snapped to the left, not sure what to expect. The sight of Thane's partner, Embit perched on her shoulder calmed her, but it did nothing to stop her hammering heart from pounding against her ribs.
