As the children walked in a group ahead of them, Noah and Lauren turned to look at each other. Their combined parental senses flared as they saw the tips of Thane's sunglasses slightly jostled behind his ears with every step he took. Combined with his silver hair and the new friends and Loomians, Thane had certainly changed.
Lauren nodded to Noah, and the man cleared his throat. "Thane." The group immediately stopped and turned to face the adults. "We have work to do here. We have to find the stone, but," Noah shot a glance at his wife. "Lauren and I also want to see how far you've come. We were, and still are skilled trainers. You've already won three medals, and you collected most of the stones by yourself. You have skills, but you lack our experience." A small smile crept to the man's lips. "Before you challenge the Atlanthian Battle Theatr, we want to test your skills and experience. After that, we want to ask you something."
Thane remained expressionless, and the dark-tinted sunglasses that completely obscured his eyes didn't help. Their presence on his face further fueled the feelings of an alien Thane, but it also showed growth and a new sense of discovery. Noah would be a hypocrite if he claimed that he didn't go through some personal and stylistic changes when he traveled. Finally, Thane's face broke into a tiny grin while Embit's exploded into a huge smile. "Sure, there's a battlefield close by. Follow me."
For the second time that day, Thane found himself on the same battlefield. Earlier that day, he had beaten the strange man in the suit, now, he would face his parents. Embit was at his side and his father stood opposite him. It was a pity that he couldn't see his face. His father, his role model was reduced to a humanoid silver form. It was honestly dehumanizing. It was bad enough that he had to see his friends and Loomians like that every day, but it was something different entirely to see his parents like that.
As his friends stood off to the side, Lauren walked onto the edge of the battlefield. She was this round's referee. "Your father and I will take turns. He goes first. This will be a one-on-one battle. Win or lose, you will face me next." She suddenly pointed a finger at Embit. "Don't send out Embit, though." She ordered. "I want to personally see how far you two have grown since our last battle."
Thane readjusted the earbud and nodded. Suddenly, his head cocked to the side as a dark black blur appeared behind his father, near the ground. "You see that too, right?" Thane whispered as he turned his head to the side, hiding the movements of his mouth. "I am sensing some kind of energy," Via confirmed. "Not thermal, but it is a living being, Loomian maybe." "Could it be the thing Lucas faced?" Thane asked as everyone stared at him. Noah had already sent out his Loomian, Imperior. Now, everyone waited on Thane.
"I don't think it noticed us yet. If it's the Loomian Lucas fought, then we need to know. Run a scan while I battle." He commanded. "Thane!" The sudden cry from the opposite side of the field made him jump. His head snapped forward and he felt his face grow hot. He hadn't even noticed. "Just a moment!" He said before turning his head, pretending to cough. "Hold that thought. Loomipedia, Via. Please." "Sure thing," Via responded.
"Imperior, the Imp Loomian. It is a dark-type Loomian and the evolved form of Grimmick. It is the final evolved form of Impkin. Tall humanoid, long red ears and hair-like protrusions from the top of its head. Green eyes and a long red nose, a tan muscle, and sharp teeth. Dark brown and tan fur coat, large hands and claws. It has long legs and hooves. Red tail. Stories of people being chased in the dark by tall and slender creatures were likely victims of an Imperior attack. These Loomians feed on the screams of people and Loomians alike and provoke their prey by chasing them until they let out cries of distress. It has a high-ranged attack and decent speed, watch out for its ranged attacks. Low defenses across the board, though. These Loomians are weak to fire, light, and bug types, and resistant to dark, spirit, and mind."
