One of the few good things that came out of the battle with Samarine, aside from getting free golden passes to the city, was that it made the hour they had to wait before departure go by much faster.

As they waited in line, Thane leaned in closer to his friends. "At least we know it wasn't Vanta who sent the Sharpod and Samarine." He whispered and let out a small, nervous chuckle. Then, he quickly swiveled his head around to check his surroundings. Jake nodded. "Yeah, but this might be worse." He said. When everyone turned to stare at him, he sighed and facepalmed. "That Samarine was corrupted, Samarine live in the water." He leaned in closer. "That means that there is a stone underwater, in the ocean." He slapped his thighs. "How are we supposed to get to it?"

Nobody had made that connection until Jake had brought it up. "I- I, don't know." Thane finally said. After that, a somber silence fell over the group until Lucas intervened. "Don't worry guys, we'll figure something out!" He clapped his hands excitedly as they boarded the submarine. "Let's not worry about that! You guys are going to Atlanthian City for the first time ever!" He exclaimed, referring to Thane, Jake, and Mabel.

At this declaration, Lucy smiled. "He's right. You guys are going to love Atlanthian. There's a lot of things to do." She nodded to Thane. "And, Thane, the next Battle Theatre is located there. It's a water-type theatre led by sisters Coraline and Lilian. It's a double-battle challenge!" Thane grinned and Embit pumped a small fist with an excited cry. "Awesome!" He exclaimed as the group took their seats near the back.

As the group and other passengers got situated, the captain went over safety protocols, and soon after, the submarine began its descent.

Jake and Mabel stared in awed wonder as the submarine dove further down. It was unlike anything they had ever seen before. Mabel had always wanted to go to Atlanthian, and now she finally had her chance. Everything outside was beautiful. The clean water, the brightly colored coral, it was like a painting. She did, however, shrink back when they passed by Loomians, even if they were harmless schools of Goppie.

As for Jake, he couldn't tear his eyes from the window. His eyes were wide and they sparkled in wonder like stars. He had seen more impressive things before, but something about this felt different. It felt nice and peaceful. It reminded him of old times when he was just a trainer, well, a trainer who was on a mission to help his best friend find his kidnapped parents. Still, he was a relatively normal trainer, but then came Hoopa, and Anthian City. He shuddered and a cold spread over his bones.

What if it happened again? He had just met his new friends, what if something terrible happened again like it did in Anthian? Before these thoughts could tear him apart, a school of glowing pink Goppie swimming by struck these thoughts down and Jake once again pressed his face to the window. For the moment, Jake believed himself to be a brand new and naive trainer, on a normal journey with his friends, seeing incredible new things for the first time. He nearly bought it.

As for Thane, he just stared straight ahead at the white block that was the seat in front of him. He didn't even try to look outside. Why bother? All he would see is blackness. He didn't want to look at that.

When Jake finally pried his face from the window, he turned to Lucas and Lucy, a question on the tip of his tongue. "So, um, why exactly is there an entire city underwater?" He asked curiously. At this, Thane and Mabel perked up. They had never heard the story, and thus, were curious as well.

Lucy took the lead on this one. She leaned forward and rested an arm on Lucas' shoulder as she began. "A long time ago, there was a project to build a massive city that hovered in the sky, high above the ocean." Jake's breath caught in his throat, and only Thane noticed with the use of his augments.
