"I hate Titans."
You glance over at Eren Jaeger, a Titan Shifter, who also harbored a hatred towards Titans. He was currently in your small group of friends.
'Oh boy. This again?'
You don't bother to say anything. It wasn't needed anymore. You just softly sighed, and rested your chin on your palm.
"..I hate them. I hate them, I hate them, I-"
"Oh. (Y/N), you're still here?" Armin appeared, a small smile on your face.
"Yeah." You tiredly look up at Armin, before flopping your arms down on the table.
"(Y/N) (L/N). Titan kills: eighty-three. Assists: none. Just don't tell her dad." Eren muttered, hypnotically.
"H-hey, Eren?" You paled, waving your arms in-front of his face.
You hear a frightened somewhat of a shriek from Armin. "E-eighty-three kills?!"
"No, I-Ugh, Eren!" You give a cry of frustration. "Wha, (Y/N), why haven't you joined a military branch yet?" Armin asks, his eyes wide.
Eren waved his hand dismissively. "She says she doesn't have time to mess with the branches- don't even try to persuade her."
You glare at Eren. "They're corrupted and-"
"Yeah, yeah. And you somehow manage to sneak and train with my 3DMG almost every night!" Eren said, reminding you.
Armin looked at you. "...(Y/N), you use the 3DMG? But you haven't ever trained!" He said.
You smile a little. "I've trained far longer than you guys." You stand up, and stretch from your seat.
"Anyway. Where'd Mikasa go?" You asked, concerned. Usually, Mikasa was everywhere Eren was.
But today, she wasn't present.
"I think she's training or something." Eren said, scratching his back.
"Mikasa has talent, doesn't she?" You muse, looking out the window thoughtfully.
Armin stated, "Mikasa's one of the best."
"Really? I'd like to go train with her..." You dreamily said, closing your eyes.
"Y'know you can? We need to go pick her up anyway. Wanna come with?" Eren asked.
"Really? Would the be okay?" You feel a grin appearing on your face.
"Yeah."
"C'mon!" Armin urged, opening the door.
After finally getting to the destination, you spotted Mikasa.
"Mikasa." You breathed out, watching her practice. She was currently trying to free herself from a short figure.
'Hm?'
"Mikasa! Heichou!" Eren and Armin rushed forward, greeting the figures. You slowly wandered up to them.
"Heya." You smile at Mikasa. Her eyes smiled, but her lips didn't move. "Hey."
You turned to the short figure when Eren gave the introductions.
'Wait- it can't be.'
'I thought...'
'But..'
"I thought you died, you brat."
The short figure stepped up. "Levi!" You gasped, your eyes wide.
You weren't shorter than him anymore. Standing at about the same height, you could finally look straight into his eyes.
"Levi..."
"It's a dream, isn't it. That's right. I'm dreaming."
"No, you idiot. It's not." Levi sighed, a faint amused look on his face.
"Wait, you know each other?" Armin asked.
"Tch. She's a long acquaintance." He said, his usual stoic face back.
You smiled. "I thought you died." You said slowly.
"You really think I would die?" Levi asked. "I'm the one that's supposed to say that." He said, sighing.
"B-but the Titan..." You trailed on.
"Um...should we leave? How about you practice with Mikasa later, and go catch up with Levi-heichou now?" Armin whispered in your ear.
"I'd like that." You simply said, giving him a warm smile.
"Levi, can we go catch up?" You ask, looping your arm in his- just like you would always do.
He didn't say anything. "You brat. Don't waste my time, I could be cleaning."
You laugh. "Okay, okay. We can clean while we talk."
____
"I'm so glad...you're alive..." You hiccup, your tears still flowing.
"You're still the same as usual. You cry when your friends aren't around. You're weak." Levi replied, sitting on the couch next to you.
He had his arm looped around the back curve of the chair, and you were vaguely aware of his near presence.
"That's not true, and you know it." You snapped, your tears still falling.
"Stop crying, you brat. It's annoying." Levi said.
'Oh Levi. Still as cold as usual.'
"Hey, Levi?" You ask after a few silent moments.
"What."
"What are you thinking?" You ask, tilting your head to look at him.
He folded his arms across his chest. "About the day I thought you died."
You softly laugh, and close your eyes as you lean against the soft back of the couch.
"I still remember the sickly smell of blood," you smile, eyes still closed. "I can practically hear the screams."
"How disgusting."
"Hey!" Your eyes shot open, and you give Levi a glare. "Well...if I'm disgusting, then you're creepy- you can find a speck of dust that I cannot even see with my own eyes!"
He gave a 'tch' sound. "Shut up. That's not creepy." He calmly said, his eyes fluttering shut.
You found yourself staring at his long lashes. His unexpectedly long eyelashes. "If you're planning to murder me- I suggest to not stare while you do it." Levi said, his eyes opening.
"How rude, I would never murder anyone." You promptly said, indignantly. Suddenly, you felt as if the mood changed.
"Would you kill humans if it meant that humanity would live on?" Levi asked.
You look at him slowly, your eyes almost closed. "I..." You softly started, relaxing against the sofa.
Levi waited for you to continue.
"..." You try again.
But no words formed. Your words were stuck in your throat.
"I would kill anyone if it meant that humanity would survive."
'Because my hands...they're already stained with dark crimson blood.'
